It's likely just a sticky-backed decal. You could probably remove it...shadowplay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 12:23 amI hate that fucking Waza logo river deep and mountain high. There's no reason it needs to be that big and on the front and it's an affront to the classless cheerful modernism of Boss pedals.
I mean it's actually taller than the brand name.

If memory serves they are very similar, if not identical, you just get four modes instead of two, not sure if you get the exact two modes of the Juno, it has been many years since I have looked at the Dimension C schematic. I remember them sound quite alike.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 6:55 pmAs for the Dimension C, is it at all related to the chorus that was in the old Junos?
Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

It's still a big fucking gouge out the rubber and ugly. I don't see the need for it at all, it's like those wank stickers folk stick on their hatchbacks telling other wanks what sort of tyres, exhaust or air filters they have. Woooo...Yokohamas!Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 1:25 amIt's likely just a sticky-backed decal. For me good branding is a little branding as possible and they've taken something iconic and pissed away all the design capital so many other pedal brands would kill for (if they weren't run by folk with sub Trump aesthetic tastes, blooze daddies or fucking hippies).

Re: New Boss WAZA pedal
I have to agree I disliked the waza logo, that is until I bought a VB-2w at which point I realized that I finally was able to get one of my all time favorite sounds without a $400-500 price tag. Would I rather have the OG with no Waza logo? Of course but now that I own one it really dosen't bother me at all. I guess I got use to it.
Logo aside I think they are doing a great job with taking these classic effects and adding something new but still keeping in line with the classics. The Custom mode on the VB-2 is really cool and although I don't use it as much as the Standard it's nice that they added something instead of just re-releasing the old version. I have been on the fence for a while of purchasing the OG DC-2 but after seeing the DC-2w features I think being able to combine modes is just too good to resist and for 1/2 the price of originals I'm in for a DC-2w.

Silver screw on the DC-2w = fail.
Looking forward to picking one up second hand to use live (saving the original one for home) when people are disappointed on it not living up to they hype (but don't think to try it in stereo)

Re: New Boss WAZA pedal
Not sure what the logic is behind which ones get silver screws (i.e. CE-2w, DC-2w, MT-2w) and which ones don't (i.e. BD-2w, DM-2w, SD-2w, TU-3w, VB-2w).
Thought it might have been something to do with whether they are made in Japan or just "inspected in Japan" but the TU-3w is MIJ and doesn't have a silver screw.
It's easily replaced thought if it bothers you.

Sorry, but it's shameful that this thread has gone this far without someone doing that. Had to be done.

Re: New Boss WAZA pedal
although more mellifluous and less dated than the brand name, at least to these ears. "Boss" as an adjective hasn't really aged well in American popular speech ... i don't recall hearing anyone say anything like "that's really BOSS, man!" since like 1975 or something, and even then probably never beyond the context of souped-up Camaros and Firebirds -
full disclosure: i have three Waza pedals and like them all

Eh,
https://reverb.com/item/15623222-brand- ... ects-pedal
Man $230 seems pretty high. You can get the old school pedals for $250ish. I would be in at $150-$175 but Dios Mio! Guess I'll be waiting to see where these land used.

Cosigned. I've got the DM-2w and CE-2w and they're both fantastic.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Tbh I'd just buy an original Metal Zone if I were you... you should easily be able to get one for under 50 bucks, and I wouldn't spend more on it.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 6:55 pmReally? That's interesting... I might be tempted to pick one of the new ones up for that...
As for the Dimension C, is it at all related to the chorus that was in the old Junos?
Re: the Dim C, not sure about the Juno chorus. I have a Juno 60 but don't even really know how to compare em aurally since chorus (to my ears at least) sounds SO different on guitar vs synth. BUT, the Dim C sounds fantastic... I usually hate chorus because it's insta-80s, but that's kinda exactly what's good about that pedal—it does the 80s thing absolutely perfectly. Reminds me of everything from new wave stuff to clean metal breakdowns/intros.

Not sure what's "improved" about the new one, since they usually do something new to the Wazas... need to read up.
Fwiw my fave chorus is still a good ol' Small Clone.

Re: New Boss WAZA pedal
Agreed. The vb2w is really really good, too.
The DC2w supposedly allows you to select two buttons at once in the special mode. Cool, but I always loved how you didn’t have to tweak anything with the DC2 - you could only choose 1-4 (it did help that all are really cool sounding).
Waiting for the GP-8w...
