New Boss WAZA pedal

Looks like a new Metal Zone, which is music to my ears I've been championing this pedal for years, through all the hate and with people more recently starting to realize the errors of their ways. This is going to be huge :)

That's awesome! I don't really play that type of music anymore, but a Waza MT-2 would be awesome! I wonder if maybe it's a re-release of the HM-2 Heavy Metal?

yeah me either, I use one just for high gain distortion that actually has low end, and with the mids much higher sounds great in the front end of my hot rod deluxe. Underrated pedal for this application brings a wah to life more than any other distortion I've tried. Mmmm seems like a lot of people would prefer the HM-2 and possibly is just with concentric knobs but I still think it's the MT-2. Pretty sure the metal zone was/still is the bigger seller between the two. And with all this buzz going around about how much better it sounds in an amps effects loop has rekindled some people's interest. Will be interesting to see if they can fit a typical WAZA switch on the pedal that gives the classic stock sound and an updated version. Or maybe a switch that will change it from operating like a preamp and a setting that allows it to run into the front end much better. Three way switch would be next level tho.. standard, modified, modern (front end of any amp with tweaks).

There is speculation that two new WAZA pedals will be announced on thursday, MT-2w and DC-2w Dimension C.
With more to come next year. Extra speculation: slow gear, phaser, fuzz, octave, tremolo, compressor.

This is exciting.

Boss really ruined the pedal by putting 'Metal' in the name, such a versatile pedal with a great EQ.
Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

Definitely agree that it's pretty versatile. I had a Keeley-modded one with the "Twilight Zone" mods and it sounded pretty good. Kinda wish that I'd kept it, but oh well.

I would LOVE to see a Waza Slow Gear. Octave would be epic too, especially if they made a new OC-2. Didn't they already do a Waza TR-2 tremolo?

Curious.

A former classmate of mine from high school works at Roland USA and she gave me a tour of the City of Commerce office/studio a few years ago, where I was also able to chat with staff. One fellow there who worked in Stateside R&D mentioned that he shared my interest in a reissue or Waza Craft version of the HM-2, although he didn't seem too optimistic at the time of it actually happening. Will be curious to see these upcoming and future pedals when they see the light of day.

They've not done a Waza tremolo as yet. They did the VB-2w though. Maybe that's what you were thinking of?

Right up my alley as well— the MT-2w, not so much.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I gotta say, the Boss Dimension C Waza - DC-2w has got me very interested too...I am not usually a chorus fan, but this could be the one to have.

I wonder what the price will be... 8)

Dude. Dimension C is fantastic sounding... been debating splurging on an old one for years. This might just save my wallet, haha.

I wish they'd just done the HM2 instead of the Metal Zone, as the former's a FAR superior pedal... that said, I definitely have had plenty more positive stuff to say about the Metal Zone over the years than a lot of people I know. Plus I always say—it sounds awesome on synth.

It's possible, but usually vibrato pedals aren't even on my radar.

Really? That's interesting... I might be tempted to pick one of the new ones up for that...

As for the Dimension C, is it at all related to the chorus that was in the old Junos?

I hate that fucking Waza logo river deep and mountain high. There's no reason it needs to be that big and on the front and it's an affront to the classless cheerful modernism of Boss pedals.

I mean it's actually taller than the brand name.
