I like subtle to trippy. Wavy. Emulate various old amp circuits. Tap-tempo. Good for price...etc etc
I really enjoyed the flint, but was too limited. What else is there?

You're gonna think that I'm fucking daft, but honestly, when I had my Boss TR-2, I found it super versatile. It's got speed, depth, and waveform control. No tap tempo though.

Cusack Tap-a-whirl is pretty darn nice IMO. V3 has more options but the V2 sounds pretty great to me too.

The Wampler Latitude Deluxe checks off most of the boxes of what you are looking for.

Re: What are some good Trem pedals these days?
I was actually thinking the Cusack Tap-A-Whirl. They make nice stuff. There were a few others, and when I went to get links, I found a few others I didn't know about.
Stone Deaf Tremotron
Walrus Audio Monument
Seymour Duncan Shapeshifter
Dawner Prince Starla
Jam Pedals The Big Chill
Diamond Tremolo
Empress Tremolo 2
Swindler Effects Red Mountain
The Big Chill has 2 different speeds, and a chop effect, on footswitches, but no tap tempo. Really great sounding tremolo though. Never heard of the Swindler Effects company, but that pedal looks packed with stuff!

TR-2 is a fantastic trem, really wish they would update it with tap temp.
Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

I have the Starla from Dawner Prince, and it's pretty great for such a small pedal.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 9:37 pmI was actually thinking the Cusack Tap-A-Whirl. They make nice stuff. There were a few others, and when I went to get links, I found a few others I didn't know about.

I also bought a Chase Bliss Gravitas that I haven't played around with too much yet, but it can do a buch of stuff.

Re: What are some good Trem pedals these days?
+1. It was my first trem, and I loved it quite a bit. I had the Keeley modded version, which I think is just a volume pot added... (?)
I had a Boonar from them awhile back and it was great. Kinda like Z-Vex, I had an issue with the orientation of the pedal on my board, but it was cool. The Chase Bliss stuff is great, but I think the enclosures are too small for all the stuff they have on them, especially the two footswitches. I've been tempted by the Thermae a bit for the delay for my bass board.fortytwo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 10:38 pmI have the Starla from Dawner Prince, and it's pretty great for such a small pedal.

Yeah, you got to know what you want to press, when you step on those pedals. I have a Tonal Recall as well. Both pedals can do so much more, than I'm ever going to do with them though.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 10:53 pm+1. It was my first trem, and I loved it quite a bit. I've never had one, but they look like a 125B-sized enclosure. I think a 1590BB would be perfect, not too big, not too small:

What was too limiting about the Flint? I thought that was supposed to be top of the food chain as far as amp emulating tremolo pedals go? I only have the El Capistan from Strymon, but it seems to do what it says on the tin.
My trem doesn't have tap tempo, but I have read complaints that a lot of tap tempo trems tend to drift. I've never found it necessary myself.

I like 1590BB's for some things, and the switches would be a little further apart on a 1590BB, but at the same time, you could have 3 125Bs where you have 2 1590BBs, so they do save some real estate.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 12:26 amI've never had one, but they look like a 125B-sized enclosure. But you'd have to get some pointier shoes.

Tap tempo tends to drift, because using a tap tempo is not locked in with the rest of the music, like if you had everything sync'd to a timecode.fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 6:02 amWhat was too limiting about the Flint? I love my PN-2.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 11:25 pmThey should do a Waza PN-2 with tap tempo.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.
