Interesting Ilitch noise possibility...

Post by Larry Mal » Tue Jun 05, 2018 5:35 am

Hi all- I am a big fan of the Ilitch noise cancelling stuff, and have come to see that they now offer their service on hollow bodied guitars, which is pretty interesting.

I gather it is non-invasive, I guess he threads the dummy coils through the f-holes and then mounts them in some way to the body. No drilling, unless I missed something.

I think it's a very interesting idea, not sure if I would ever find the money for that, but his products absolutely work as advertised (I have two Telecasters with noise cancelling pickguards and will load my G&L Legacy with a backplate system some day).

I think the idea of having my ES-330 with P90s have no hum would be pretty amazing.

Anyway, I thought that maybe someone might find this interesting.

What'd be cool would be if you could wire it to a switch, so you could have noise if you wanted, on demand.

You can with their other models, and I would presume you could with this one, also.

Not sure why you would want to do that, I would be worried about losing the feedback of the ES-330, but I don't think that's likely.

Who knows. Maybe I'll get the Legacy out of the way and do my ES-330 up with the Ilitch stuff around Christmas. A hum free P90 hollow-body guitar would be great.
