Earlier this year I got a Phase II, which has seemed like a faraway dream since I was about 14 years old.

That's SO sweet I think the functionality of having two pedals that can do that is pretty sweet though. At the end of the day, you could put them on two different boards each.

Sorry man I found out that Mu-tron was back and doing small enclosures not that long ago myself. I'd love to have the Phasor III, but I wish they'd make a mini Bi-phase...

The Bi-Phase is the one I would go for too. I have played a vintage one before, but so big and so expensive, I can’t really say I need the sounds that much. A Lovetone Doppelgänger would have done the trick too, but that’s almost as big and expensive as an original.

Reviving this old post to say I’ve just pre-ordered the Behringer Dual-Phase, a relatively small and much more affordable copy of the Mutron Bi-Phase from Adorama.com (a US distributor for Behringer). There seems to have been an earlier version called the Bi-Phase with examples on Reverb at twice the price, but maybe they got a cease-and-desist and had to rename this model. This is not a sub-$50 compact plastic enclosure, this is more like one of their synths. Found out about the MuTron Bi-Phase from either the Sonicyouth.com gear archive, on a discussion on the SY board, or some thread here on OSG. They used these on some songs on A Thousand Leaves , especially on Hits Of Sunshine but maybe others too. Guitar notes sound like dripping water. Lots of 70s recordings too. So unobtainable and difficult to maintain, I thought I would never have the chance to play one. Stereo phaser, so psychedelic! I’ve been resisting GAS for a long time but this one got me. Stay strong my GAS resistors, for the bills are high and our society is cruel.

I've wanted an Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe for overa decade, but itsvery intermittent want. Whenever he makes them, I'm not looking, or have other things to buy. Hard to find used too! Don't know of any filter pedal that sounds anything like it- maybe a microsynth does the triggered follower, but everything else is...too funky. I want industrial gritty sweeps!

a Real-Ass EHX 16 Second Delay. I got the Maneco Sweet 16, which is a clone of it, but it's not QUITE the same, because it doesn't have the sliders. They made one with the sliders, but it's $600, unfortunately.

That's interesting - I had no idea these existed. Obviously "much more affordable" is a pretty vague term, but you can add me to the queue of interested parties, having had my interest about these things piqued many years ago by this:

I had the Behringer Bi-Phase and Mu-Tron reissue Bi-Phase at the same time - the Behringer is four times as large (still not quite as a big as the original, I don't think) and needed a boost going in direct from guitar but otherwise it would easily do the same thing as the Mu-tron box.

(I sold both because I never use phasers as it turns out.)

Holy Pompeii, T Rex finally replicated the Binson Echorec! Scared to know what this will cost. Based on this and my last post I may need a second board for replicated psychedelic pedals of legendary power shrunken down from their original size but still very oversized.

Nevermind it is $2k, won’t be getting one…
