Been thinking about picking one of these up and been trying to find out when it is in poly mode, what is the range of the 'Range' control?
If you set it so everything below E3 gets the octave effect, is everything below E3 removed from the direct out? Or does it still come out just octave free?
And any general OC-3 information you would like to share.
Thanks!

Re: Boss OC-3
I'll check it out on the weekend.
I would have thought that the direct out is the same as the input signal no matter what settings you're using. I admit I've never used that function. I don't have the manual here with me either but you can download it to check.

The manual is more or less useless for details. I assume the direct out is exactly what is at the input, but it may change with the mode as well.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Direct out is always the same - no relation to the range settings.
The issue with setting the range low enough (for me it would be somewhere near A1 range) is that the octave output gets incredibly muddy and incomprehensible. It basically just rumbles below 1/4 of the range, which is exactly where I would love to use it, because otherwise it takes the wrong note out of a chord (not a root note, but a fifth).
I've also find out it track way better with a neck pickup (it takes the neck humbuckers best IMO).

That is more or less what I expected, thanks for clearing that up.
