Recently bought a Caroline Guitar Co Shigeharu Fuzz and it’s excellent. Expansive tone with lots of touch sensitivity and option for octave on or off. Pete Thorn does a demo on YouTube that’s compelling. I highly recommend looking into it. Covers sputtery splat gateded mess to concentrated harmonic fuzz.

I use to own a Zvex Fuzzfactory ages ago and never found it to be very versatile and sort of gave up on fuzzes.... Faith restored!

I got a Sonus Octavium a couple of years ago, and I love it.

http://www.sonus-pedals.com/octavium--axis-fuzz.html

It's unashamedly retro - the guys behind Sonus are complete Hendrix nuts, and this pedal is the best of this type I've heard. I've also got a Fulltone Octafuzz, which I like, but it's not as good as the Sonus.

Sonus have recently put out another octave, this time based on a Foxx Tone Machine, but I haven't tried it. The demos on the site look good.

Cheers!
J.

I don't know anything about Octave Fuzzes, but Joe Gore just released his Screech Octave Fuzz, with as usual a great video demo :

Just thought it would interest the posters in this thread !

I was quite keen to pick up one of those after the namm demo but I just built a green ringer that I'm quite happy with (sounds incredible into a ge fuzzface)

In a pinch...
FY6 Super Fuzz.
The early Ibanez Standard Fuzz wasn't too shabby either.

I have a couple of other things in mind that haven't been mentioned here, so I think i'll just wait until I get this rig of mine sorted out properly.
I have been on extended hiatus, need to repurchase or replace a few bits and pieces. ;)

In the meantime, who's used a ZVex Machine and an octave pedal together? :D

Wattson SuperFuzz or Creepy Fingers version, both stellar. On the cheap, the Dano French Toast is hard to beat.

It used to be my collection a few years back, yes...I've had over 30 Zvex pedals come through my collection in the past (my current count is 6, I think)

The Octane is octave up. :)
