Forgive me if you've already seen this, but Fender appears to have just launched a range of pedals. Anybody seen them yet?

Interesting chassis and lit knobs, if nothing else. Can't say much about the sound, i'm convinced that people doing gear demos can make just about anything sound good.

The cases kinda remind me of Strymon's stuff, not that that means anything. I wonder where the boxes are made? When I look at my board, I'm surprised by how much American-made stuff is in there.

These new pedals, but no the Fender Blender...interesting.

I saw them last month in all the NAMM news and watched a demo video on the pedal show. The dirt pedals and the compressor look interesting. I particularly like the two channel parallel blend option on the distortion pedal. I've played the Chase Bliss Brothers and JHS Angry Driver with parallel blending of two channels and I just loved them.

However, I feel like there's so many good digital verbs and delays these days that these offerings aren't competitive from a price to features to board space perspective.

Also I agree with Grey, gear demoers make everything sound amazing.

+1 it’s a crowded market. It seems like a tough time to make a fresh start and launch a new line.

I'm wondering if the prices on the Fender site are the real street prices. Seems like they might get more traction if the pedals were cheaper than those lists. As noted, the pedal market is getting pretty saturated with offerings now.

The market is definitely saturated (possibly over-saturated) right now. There are a ton of good sounding pedals on the market, though I don't believe every permutation of effects and options has been hit yet, I'm definitely happy with what's out there now. Some of the Fender stuff is interesting and some of that looks original (somewhat), but Fender making effects is like Seymour Duncan's effects for me: they may be amazing sounding, but because they are guitar and pickup makers first and foremost, it's hard for me to take the pedals seriously. I'll always think about them like a "toy" pedal...

Difference being that Fender has been making amps since the beginning, so that's an extra bit of foot in the door of the pedal market since they aren't that far removed. Honestly I'm mystified it's taken this long. If it was anyone else it would just be another face in the crowd but I think (unless they sound terrible or something) that they will sell at least reasonably. I imagine that new players might get on board.

I personally really like the led implementation. That's a big plus.

When I looked at that distortion pedal (before glancing down to the text) I read the name as "Fugliest Distortion". I think that would have been a better name for marketing purposes.

I don't think the prices are bad at all, to be honest.

I always seem to forget about amps. Haha. True though, it definitely lends itself quite a bit towards circuit design. I honestly think they've got a few decent sounding ones. I'm just not terribly interested, though admittedly because I'm pretty much done with my pedalboard. I thought the distortion and the reverb both sounded pretty good, and the compressor was nice.

Begin the great debate about what circuit(s) they are clones/modded versions of.Nothing new under the sun after all etc.

Again, Fender has one effects pedal for which they are known best. Why isn't it one of the pedals being released as part of this initiative?

From the Fender website:

"It's a working, pro tool. If we could have developed a delay in 1950, we probably would have done that one because it's just a good working set of tools," explained Cotey

c'mon Cotey ... ::)

They do look pretty and sound good in the demos. What are the prices on these? (can't see it from my location) . I've got the impression they are being marketed to students/beginners mostly? It kinda falls in line with the whole Fender guitar lessons videos.

The pedals may be great, but if they don't offer any new/outstanding/novel features and sounds I don't see any guitarist going for these, since the market is saturated indeed. I think a lot of these will sweeten deals on top of new Fender guitars and amps.

They're $99-$199 depending on the pedal.
