Boss AW-3 alternatives?

I've been thinking a lot about the vocal/vowel sounds you can get from the Boss AW-3 lately and how they might work well with keyboards, percussion, etc.

Is the AW-3 the only game in town when it comes to formant shaping or are there other pedals out there that do it too? I'd really only be considering cheaper alternatives - not looking to break the bank for what is a bit of a one-trick pony.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for replying. I didn't realise the Filter Modeler had a talk-box mode....and hadn't considered a talk-box as an alternative to going down the AW-3 route. When I've seen them in the wild they've tended to be at least as expensive as the Boss, though (though I realise they can do a bit more).

Still waiting to hear about a Danelectro, Behringer or Mooer type that'll do 'human voice' mode on the cheap.
