Yup, that's pretty much the way I wind up working w/ them on the pedalboard, set the ratio/makeup gain/attack/release on full wet then dial it back w/ the blend to add the dynamics and balance of the original tone I want.

Also, just so you guys see what I'm talking about:
Every demo I've heard sounds fantastic with both bass and guitar. Overall level, compression level, treble control, mix knob, and a 3-position switch for release time. I love the idea of super in-depth compression in the studio, but for a board compressor, this thing might be the perfect blend of function and simplicity.

Re: Compressors And Cool Features
i've tried them all and my favorite was a huge surprise to me. The Seymour Duncan Vise Grip. It does not look cool. But it sounds so great and the frequency switch comes in handy. I can never use a compressor that doesn't have a blend control ever again... comes in handy with my vintage analog synths as well.
The Bass version is also great. I forget the name... but it's basically the same, just tuned for lower frequencies.

Re: Compressors And Cool Features
I always forget that Seymour Duncan makes pedals. I'll put it on the list to try!
