Monolith Oracle.
The best fuzz box ever. I can't stop playing it.

One of these, usually the ones with the dual Tweak knobs.

Last year I was using a Joyo American Sound and farted around all year shopping for a fuzz and never buying one

At the very end of December I bought a Op Amp Big Muff and somehow I just discovered the EHX Hot Tubes. I love that pedal

2017 - I fell in love with the Rockett Archer Klone. It's the basis of my tone when I'm playing through rehearsal space, borrowed amps.

I finally found a fuzz I love - Basic Audio Scarab. The fat and bias controls allow my to really dial it in.

The other surprise is beginning to like my Prince of Tone. I've been a straight Gretsch player for a while now and the POT is ok with the filtertrons. But since buying my CIJ Jazzy a couple months back, I see that the POT really shines with single coils.

Mr. Black JDS-50 or the Skreddy Hybrid Overdrive. With a JM and a Vox (AC30HW) these have both been magical (had been looking for a heavy drive for the Vox for quite awhile).

I can't believe I'm 5 pages deep in this and the first person to mention the TS9. Always on for me, and has been since I've purchased it. Love it paired with the OCD for when it needs to be a little nastier.

I don't know how close it is the TS9 specifically, but I use my EQD Dunes quite a bit. I know it's tubescreamer-based.

Black Arts Toneworks Black Forest (next purchase will be the Pharaoh)

I wanna try the Black Forest. I just got a Basic Audio Futureman, and they're both based off the old Colorsound Overdriver. GREAT sound.

It's shameless... but I've been using my AUX Ektachrome non-stop. It's my always-on

It pushes the signal, dials in the prefect amount of treble/bass and has a grainy, gravelly, vintage-y grit to it. Plays nice with everything I've tried.
It's probably time I make some demos...

A EH East River Drive. I sold my King of Tone and kept the East River...that’s how good it is at THAT thing.

I just picked up a Z Vex Double Rock. Kind of excited to see how it shakes out.

Bearfoot Homey Beeatch (Honey bee variant) was my most used drive for the year 2017 and will probably be also for 2018.

Here's full board at the construction phase:

Blackstar HT Dual.
It's Blackstar's tube preamp and drive pedal. Same topology as the HT series amps but boiled down to a single tube and some transistors.
It's become an essential part to my rig; I use it when I can't get drive from an amp (some gigs with provided backline and rehearsal) and it can go direct into the board with it if something goes wrong. It's not my first choice for gain (that'd be from an amp) but it works, it lets me sound like me ( a British oriented amp in pain) and it fits in my current pop-punk band. It's a realistic 'amp-tone'. I just wish it wasn't so god damn huge..

if the last 5 years are any indication, it looks like it's going to be the rat from here on out...
Very glued and greasy reverb sound

2017 was the year I fell out of love with the Rat. We're still friends though.
