(Belated) NPD - DOD Carcosa

After GASing for one for months, I picked a Carcosa a few weeks ago when PGS announced their going out of business sale. I'm often skeptical of pedals that are praised by the great internet hype machine, but this is, hands down, one of the coolest pedals I own. It's extremely versatile & colours my sound in the exact ways I hoped it would. As soon as I plugged it in, I launched into "Blue Collar Love" by Starflyer 59 & immediately knew the pedal was a keeper. It works equally well with my Jag, Mustang, and Strat. I subbed for a friend's band (typical top 40 fare) and used the Carcosa as my only drive pedal & it performed perfectly. From straight grit to completely fuzzed, I feel like this one pedal has most of the gritty sounds covered. Sorry if I'm starting to sound like a fanboy, I'm just really Impressed. Oh crap, am I part of the hype machine now?

Count me in as part of the hype machine, I got one a couple months ago and I love it too! I love how much the before and after controls interact with each other to get totally different sounds, it's always nice when pedals really reward knob tweaking and have a bunch of sweet spots.

Got one off guitar center's sale event. It sounds pretty good. The number of options you get is quite nice given you can get a really intense or sputtery out of control sound or dial it back for more useable tones.

Got mine today, after seeing few reviews some days ago. Can't wait to utilize it today on a rehearsal. I got hooked mostly on velcro stuff, but the rest is also promising.

And Ambrose Bierce is certainly a bonus
