Re: Looking for chorus
I would try to find a used boss ce-3. Some people find it a bit sterile, but besides my jc-120 and my walrus audio julia...it's my favorite chorus. At least check it out.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

Re: Looking for chorus
I see you are willing to spend $100, based on your link to the TC pedal. I don't have experience with other chorus pedals, but I bought my Ibanez CS9 for $80 and I won't get rid of it until I stop liking chorus. It's everything I wanted, so I'm not gonna be looking for "better", either.

Re: Looking for chorus
yes. the ce-3 tends to have a bit of a compressed sound but it's one of the few pedals i'm not willing to sell. my dad gave me his old one from when he was a bass player. you see them sell around for a good amount and are always funFightingPlankton wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2017 10:13 amI would try to find a used boss ce-3. Re: Looking for chorus
I just checked ebay.co.UK for chorus pedals under 99 pounds and yall have a lot fewer options over there but the options you have are awesome.
found several ce-3s, a ce-2b, an Ibanez DCL (my secret weapon), and a couple Pearl chorus pedals. I might ge t one of those pearl since it was so cheap.

Re: Looking for chorus
Summers was all about the flange-y chorus and the chorus-y flange, if you know what I mean...a lot of his his most iconic chorus-sounding stuff was actually an Electric Mistress. The Mooer Elec Lady is excellent for this, and cheap too. Here's a vid I found of the Mooer being used for Police stuff. I think it sounds pretty authentic.

On mine you hit peak Summers with Colour at 10 o'clock, and both Range and Rate at about 2 o'clock.

Re: Looking for chorus
This has always been my go to for Chorus sounds. Kept this over a rather good sounding old CE-2. The Ross always sounded better to me.
But for Summers stuff, def look at an Electric Mistress for flangey chorus.

I'm absolutely in love with my CE-2w.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Re: Looking for chorus
I would go with the Corona mini. The toneprint aspect of these TC pedals is really amazing. You have so many options as far as presets and if you hate them all, you can just use the software to create your own sound. You can also often find them used closer to the $70 range.

Re: Looking for chorus
Don't. get. a. Corona.
They. are. terrible.
They. will. NOT. do. Andy Summers. Not to anyone's liking, anyway. Not anyone with a pair of ears on their head.
What actually will, and is dirt fucking cheap, is the danelectro fab chorus, the tiny little blue plastic thing. Unless you want stereo, it will do the job. I'm a huge Andy Summers fan and spent quite a bit of time tone-chasing after him, and there are a number of pedals that will give a good result. Some chorus, some flangers, but what you want is the overlap in the proverbial venn diagram of the two effects, that area is something that both effects can cover, though not every example of each. Not a corona, that's for sure. I dunno if the nano mistress is actually any good or not, but it's probably worth checking out. If cheap is what you want, the dano pedal will do it. Those things are goddamn miraculous. I've had good luck with the boss CE-2 as well for Andy sounds. Very good, in fact. The reissue Todd mentioned does stereo too, which is cool. Worth the money, but not really cheap. These days he's using Red Witch chorus pedals, but... not cheap.

Re: Looking for chorus
As was pointed on early in my membership here the OP has a pattern of behavior whereby he/she poses a question, drops a few links and immediately vanishes.
Anyway, the MXR Analog Chorus is all I think I would ever need, but I probably won't ever buy one because as much as I enjoy messing with it once in a while I fundamentally dislike chorus.

Re: Looking for chorus
Get an EHX Electric Mistress clone. That covers most of it. He did use some chorus as well here and there, but the Mistress is versatile enough to kind of cover that too. The Mistress was especially used all the time live. Almost never off.

Re: Looking for chorus
Well, if the OP is a shill for TC electronic, then I guess shitting all over the corona chorus pedals for being terrible, unmusical paperweights probably evens it out.

Re: Looking for chorus
FWIW, I had the Corona and hated it. Like, truly hated it. There was something synthetic and droney about it, like a bad plugin. Just my $.02.
