the afterneath and walrus audio descent are both on my list
avalanche run seems like something i would like the videos of and hate irl
The walrus is appealing at first, but it isn't very easy to use. I tried one out in a shop and thought I liked it. I purchased it only to find out it was hard to get it to work. It's either too much or too little. Very hard to dial in. I eventually turned it off and used my Trinity. Sometimes less is more.

The TC trinity is my oldest pedal and will never leave my board. Long washy decays with a lightly/tastefully modulated trail.

With that said, I also have an eventide space on the board. It is the shoegaze king and will never leave either. Lots of options and can be tricky to dial, but the good sounds are there. Sometimes more is more.

I'm pretty sure the H9 can do everything you listed, and it only takes up one spot.

I picked up a polara relatively cheap off of reverb. It sounds good (lexicon), but I'm not entirely happy with the build quality. The knobs feel cheap and sometimes slip out of position. Worse, it's basically impossible to tell what setting you're on by looking at it when you're playing. I paid half of its retail of $160 or something, so I'm not complaining. But if I had bought it new, I'd probably return it and get something that feels a little sturdier.

it's out of production, though my Digitech Jamman Delay is a Desert Island pedal
(cuz there'll totally be electricity on a deserted island)

It's pretty much a Hardwire delay and a jamman in one big box, little bigger than a DL4.
tonnes of storage, reverse loops, tap tempo, you can store 3 delay presets.

if you don't need storage, I really like the meat & potatoes Boss RC-1
one volume knob, and a clock wheel so you can see where you are in the loop.

the more i looked at stuff the more i felt like the context and afterneath would likely come to my house
i'm gonna try them both out and get myself a looper and see how i feel about all that over a few months, no harm no foul
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

I barely get a chance to play guitar anymore, but I get really excited about people planning new gear setups. Excited for you, Andy!

I play a lot nowadays, actually starting a new project which is really quite a nice feeling
thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forward to adding this to the crew of pedals i have and seeing what sticks.

My favorite reverb is hands down the Red Panda Context.
This.

yeah having owned it for a little while i have to agree it's awesome. It will not take the place of my solemate reverb unit on the board but will become another effect for making shoegaze magic ensue. It also lends itself to appleseed casty sounds, rad ass pedal
next thing for me will be a delay and after that a new actual fuzz
