Re: Reverse pedal
The Red Panda can do reverse as well as a myriad of other things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm0OSz-K_54" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Reverse pedal
I just got this one in. I see why people like it. It can do 100% wet and the extra repeats are only reverse not alternating forward/reverse. I think this was in competition with boss dd-5 at the time and it addressed both issues.UlricvonCatalyst wrote:The Danelectro Backtalk is quite highly-regarded and sought-after, but not so easy to get hold of at a reasonable price.painted wood wrote:what reverse pedals are out there and which is the best?

+1 for the Danelectro, like the talkbox effect they did in the same series they never really sold. 10 years ago you could pick them up for £30/40 on eBay now there's one on reverb at £225; crazy prices which would probably push me back towards a second hand boss if I was looking at one now.

Re: Reverse pedal
The Red Panda Particle delay has a great reverse feature - it's more of a reverse playback of the echoes of what you are playing, depending on where you have blend and feedback set. The freeze function is cool because it'll take a note, or two and keep looping it reversed when you have it set at 3 o'clock or higher.
The Ditto X2 is more of a true looper/ with reverse setting on playback. Some great sounds are found when you overdub on your reversed loop, switch back to normal and your overdub is now reversed.

Re: Reverse pedal
The eventide space has an excellent reverse setting, and it's really tweakable. You can easily nail Kevin Shields-like delays.

Re: Reverse pedal
You should also consider the new tc electronic flashback 2. I don't have one and I haven't used it, but I did have one of the originals and was happy with it. In addition to being a great all-around delay, they've integrated an expression pedal into the switch. On the reverse setting, the expression pedal cuts out the dry signal. This was shown off in a recent episode of That Pedal Show and looked pretty impressive.
Check it out...could be just what you're looking for.

Re: Reverse pedal
I haven't tried the reverse on my Ditto X2s yet, that may be worth checking out when I'm not trying to actually loop a whole part. Thanks for the reminder.Shadoweclipse13 wrote:I use the reverse setting on my Ditto X2 quite a bit. I like that it's a reverse signal, as opposed to a reverse delay or reverse reverb.

It's a boost booster, to boost your boost - it makes your tone much muchier.

Re: Reverse pedal
I had a Dano BackTalk. Not that great. Better reverse delays out there nowadays imo.

Re: Reverse pedal
Thinking outside the box, there's a reverse delay FX on the Zoom H4 recorder. Not pedal-board friendly, but a really useful addition to any musician's armoury and available fairly cheap now that it's been superceded several times over by newer iterations.Supa-Stang wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2017 5:57 amHarmoncj wrote:I just got this one in. Re: Reverse pedal
When the Backtalk came out - which is 15+ years - there were VERY few reverse delay options available.
I fail to accept that reverse delay effects haven't improved since then.
When setting the Backtalk to get the most intense full wet reverse effect out of it, I found that it did this annoying hiccup sound thing that was always there. I dunno if it was clock noise or what it was.
It's a good pedal, but it's not the be all and end of reverse delay pedal and reverse effects.
This video demo is a good representation of the Backtalk to my memory.
