The Danelectro Backtalk is quite highly-regarded and sought-after, but not so easy to get hold of at a reasonable price.
yeah i've owned one, quite a nice pedal. Reverse reverb is my jam not delay
Most of what i pumped out with reverse delay was unintelligible
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

If you're talking reverse delay, while it may not be exactly what you're looking for, the Count to Five is pretty cool at that and more.

There is one knob that decides on forward or backward delay, and I think the further you move it from noon in the forward or backward direction, decides the intensity or maybe pitch modulation I think I leave it at about 10:00 for a backwards in-pitch delay.

In mode 2 there's a loop slicer that's really interesting, you record something in a 4 second loop and it plays it back, slicing it all over the place. And you can force it to "bleed" something from one mode into another. And I forget what mode 3 is for. I don't really play around with the controls too much, it's kind of complicated, so I found something I like and stick with it. But a friend uses it totally differently, that's a cool thing about it.

It's pricey, and it's not a standard delay, but it's really cool. And complicated.

Otherwise, I would think a Red Panda Particle would do that well, maybe? I think that's the one I'm thinking of, don't have it but it seems nice.

I used to own a Boss DD-7 (I think) with the reverse feature, and found it pretty coolalthough I never really used it to its full potential...
In the land of Boss, I've always liked PS-3 (Pitch Shifter/Delay). One of it's built-in modes (number 7) is amazing. It takes what you play, spits it out backwards, and then each echo modulates the pitch up or down, giving a really cool shimmering arpeggio sound that can be tuned to whatever intervals suits the song.

But, if you turned the Balance all the way up (backwards only), the Feedback knob all the way down (no echo), and kept the pitch right in the middle (no pitch shift), the end result is a good reverse guitar sound. The latency is only about 200ms, so you can play normally, and the output is still backwards without any lengthy delay in effect, or mistimed phrasing. Think: the intro to "The Pod," by Hum (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q397xZoMSQ).

The reverse setting is one of the better sounds in the EHX Canyon.

I'm a big fan of my PS-3, but I have to say I've never noticed the reverse element you mention (which is not to say it doesn't do it, just that I've remained oblivious to what it's doing). I just think the combination of octaver, pitch-shifter and delay, capable of chorus-like and reverb-like sounds in one compact pedal makes it incredibly versatile.

I used to use a Danelectro Wasabi FWD and Rev Delay. It's pretty nice sounding and easy to use. Big awkward yet cool shaped enclosure. I have a Digitech Obscura and I really like the reverse delay on that. There's no dry signal with this one though if that matters(rev setting only).

I don't know if it would do what you're looking for exactly but the Malekko Sneak Attack can probably make it sound like your playing backwards with all the attack and decay options.
