Stereo Effects Setup Problem
So I have multiple pedals that have stereo outputs. They way I am running them now - which is chaining the pedals like normal except plugging extra patch cables into the stereo inputs and outputs - only the last pedal in the chain is actually running stereo. I want for all four of my stereo effects to all work in stereo. How do I do this? Am I just not setting my pedals up correctly?

Re: Stereo Effects Setup Problem
This may be a dumb question, but are you using two amps?
If you're matching outs to ins, the final output should be stereo and should reflect the stereo output of the previous pedals. But you need two amps, or at least two inputs into a DAW.

It might help if we knew what pedals are being used.
This is an excellent rectangle

Re: Stereo Effects Setup Problem
What makes you think that those pedals aren't running in stereo already?

All different orders (to try to make it work)mackerelmint wrote:In that order?
Well, only the past pedal in the chain will run in stereo. For example: when I put my DD-7 infront of my phaser, only the DD-7 runs in stereo; if I put my Phaser infront of my DD-7, only the phaser runs in stereo.natthu wrote:What makes you think that those pedals aren't running in stereo already?

Re: Stereo Effects Setup Problem
Make sure all of the pedals, by themselves, are running in stereo. Just do guitar > pedal > amp.
If those all work in stereo, try adding a second pedal in the chain. Guitar > pedal > pedal > amp.
Try that until you find the culprit. For some reason in the back of my head, I'm willing to bet it's the doubler.

Re: Stereo Effects Setup Problem
The DD-7 is stereo in/out. If the phaser has at the very least stereo outs then both pedals are running in stereo. The first stereo pedal will create a stereo signal, if all the following pedals are stereo in and out, then they are all operating in stereo.Groovy Tunes wrote:when I put my DD-7 infront of my phaser, only the DD-7 runs in stereo; if I put my Phaser infront of my DD-7, only the phaser runs in stereo.
I don't understand why you think only the last pedal is stereo....?

Re: Stereo Effects Setup Problem
I think what he's saying is that if the DD7 is last in the chain, then he gets the stereo ping pong effect on the repeats. However, when he makes the phaser the last pedal in the chain, the DD7's repeats no longer ping pong.

Ah, I see!
Well that would mean that the Helix isn't running true stereo (or more accurately, you want a dual mono pedal).. Have you tried any of the TonePrint presets available? I'm not familiar with the Helix, but I have used a few TonePrint pedals... Maybe some of the presets will achieve what you want. Or try using the editor to make your own.
