EHX Canyon

I have to admit I am a hardcore EHX skeptic after buying a brand new DMM in the early 2000s that shit the bed after one practice.
Still, this looks pretty cool.

The analog emulation seems decent, and it has tap tempo and a basic looper. The reverse sounds pretty cool too. The rest seems pretty gimmicky, but whatever.

Not bad! It certainly has a lot of functionality for something so small -- and they've managed to include some of the cool features from the Hazarai and POG (the octave up delay). Holding the phone up to the pickups for drum loops is kind of gimicky, but would be great for practice purposes.
Extra points for the King Crimson demo.

$139 is a no-brainer, IMO.
this lineup has been pretty solid construction-wise, so i think it'll work out nicely.

Good to hear the newer pedals are solid.
To be fair, the lemon DMM experience was mainly unpleasant because the store was super-dickish about it. They are no longer in business. Go figure.

Tried one the other day. Wasn't too impressed. It was fairly noisy with an amp that was dead quiet, and the sounds didn't really come across that well in person. The DMM emulation is pretty good, as is the reverse. The tape is ok, but if you really like that sound you'll want something better. Same with the straight up digital delay. The verb setting was not good, the rest were gimmicky, and I sucked at using the looper (which is no reflection on the quality of the pedal, obviously).

I have everything the Canyon does in the same size with my TC Flashback that I got for less.
Great to have either for a good all-around delay

Flashbacks are 169.99 US now though, which makes the Canyon look super affordable especially considering there is a secondary knob mode where you can further tweak parameters like modulation on the DMM mode. The flashback is cool, don't get me wrong, but on a retail shelf the EHX is a serious contender.

I posted some quick thoughts above. If the reverb + delay setting were better I'd be willing to overlook some of the other shortcomings.
What I was hoping it would be is a fun/useful practice toy and something that could be used live, but I think it comes up short in the second category.

I got one and agree with the opinions on the quality of the settings mentioned so far. It is staying on board (pun intended) with my Flint, Phase 95,and Belle Epoch strictly on the strength of its "shimmer" setting, which I think is flat-out beautiful after some fine-tuning. And, some other settings can be useful for longer (or tap tempo) delays that the Belle Epoch doesn't do.

Rather than create a new thread, I figured I'd reanimate this one. Looking into this pedal, or a Flashback 2. Kind of new to the pedal arena. I think what feature I'm looking for that none of the review videos ever seem to show, is the variations of bypass. Basically, I want tails, so if I turn off the effect it doesn't completely just get cut out. It seems like the Canyon has that from some info I've found online? Any other opinions on ~$100 used delay pedals that have buffered bypass/tails, feel free to suggest them.

I eventually bought a Boss DD-7.
Other than the meh analog delay emulation it’s pretty good.
I wish there were some other options in stereo than just ping ponging repeats like wet/dry output.
For sound quality and ease of use it generally kicks the shit out of the Canyon though, and does trails because it’s buffered.

Funny, that was the first one I was looking at. I guess at least it's a bit cheaper on the used market compared to the Canyon. Save a cool $~25 or so.
