Reverb+Delay recommendations.
Dear team OSG.
Play both bass and guitar.
I have been borrowing a friends BOSS RV-3 for a long while and will soon need to give it back.
Any recommendations for a newer, non-discontinued single pedal that can do a sound similar to delay+reverb together, I'm thinking something along the lines of the glorious golden ratio setting on the Strymon DIG.
Pedals I've researched that are close but not quite the one:
OBNE Dark Star - too long form and not a delay function.
EQ Dispatch Master - possibly a bit dark and not soupy enough?
EQ Avalanche Run - unfortunately, too expensive
Strymon DIG - unfortunately, too expensive
Am I being to pedantic?

Re: Reverb+Delay recoomendations.
My initial thought was the Dispatch Master. I've heard nothing but glory and it's been on my list for forever and a day...
But it sounds like you might want to try to pick up another used RV3, if it already works for you. The perfect 2-in-1 is definitely going to be tough to find.

Re: Reverb+Delay recoomendations.
For slapback type/early reflection type delay+gorgeous plate-y verb the Catalinbread Talisman or EQD Levitation are great IMO.
The EQD Disaster Transport SR is like the flip of those w/ a couple of cascading delays w/ a lot of control and a single knob verb on the 2nd and is pretty great IMO but will run you more than the Avalanche Run and close to the Dig pricewise.
Granted I haven't actually taken one home w/ me, but I was a bit disappointed in the Avalanche Run in a couple of half hour sessions of playing around w/ one. Just too similar to the Afterneath in my somewhat limited exploration. Would be cooler if the Afterneath was your ideal reverb and you didn't already have one though I'm guessing.
I've played around w/ the Dispatch Master a few times as well and it didn't quite grab me enough that I had to have one either. Most people who own them seem to love them though.

*Ahem* Zoom MS70-CDR.
This is a signature. If you're reading this you've gone past the end of my post.

Delay + Reverb + EQ will cover all RV-3 modes.
For the golden ratio you could get fairly close with the Dual Delay mode and fine tuning the tempo on both delay by choosing 2 consecutive fibonacci numbers as the ms.

I think the delay is a separate mode on the context, but's it's been a while since I've used one.

Can't fuck with the CDR. It's the best deal going, no joke.

Re: Reverb+Delay recoomendations.
context delay is delay and reverb together and you can adjust the reverb level into the delay but yeah as nice as it sounds at what it does there are more flexible pedals out there! worth a mention tho.
If OSG has tort me anything...

Re: Reverb+Delay recoomendations.
Though Dispatch Master was my first thought, I have a Context as well, and that reverb+delay sound is sublime. Perfect blend of both. Not a bad sound in that thing either.soggy mittens wrote:context delay is delay and reverb together and you can adjust the reverb level into the delay but yeah as nice as it sounds at what it does there are more flexible pedals out there! worth a mention tho.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but the 'Echo' mode on the EHX Cathedral is basically an echo reverb, with optional repeats. I like the way it sounds. It's probably the mode I use most frequently.

Re: Reverb+Delay recommendations.
I came to say Zoom MS-70CDR, so...I did.
Honestly this pedal is such a tremendous bargain. I have 2 of them.

Re: Reverb+Delay recommendations.
Delay = eventide timefactor , covers all the delay you need.
