Digitech Digidelay Hissing

Post by jd.pt » Fri Apr 28, 2017 1:14 pm

Hello,

I recently got a Digitech Digidelay because I heard great things about it, but I have a problem with it.
The pedal creates a lot of hiss in the signal, already tried with battery and power supply, and multiple amps...

I know the pedal is not true bypass, but it should be like that. It does the hiss even when it is turned off, does anyone have this pedal, and had the same problem?

Best regards,
Joel Domingues

Hey, thanks.

Yes, I bought it online a few weaks ago, I've noticed right away.
It has some kind of problem, all the modes work fine, but there's the constant hiss, that turns into a very loud hissing (like loud white noise), if I use for example a looper pedal, due the layers of sound.

I guess that's the cons of online buying used stuff... So I was wondering if it was a common issue and there was a solution.

I have my Digidelay 8 maybe 9 years never had any issues.
I've used it on many gigs and during countless rehearsals it's built like a tank
since you already tried it with battery just check your patch cables

Thanks. Do you know any guide, for like debuging the issue?
I've done some DIY stuff, like diy pedal kits, but I don't really know the ways to debug a issue.

I don't have the knowledge to help with bad electronic components inside the pedal. Maybe the pedal needs calibration.
let us know if you find a solution
Just before blaming the pedal for the noise try different cables

Thanks. Already tried multiple cables and two different amps, two different guitars, two power supplys and 9v battery.
I'll update if I find something wrong with the pedal, already opened it but everything seems clean and mint, no bad solder joints or whatsoever.
