Now that's cool. I had a Red Bear amp 15 years ago. I have a real soft spot for those 90's Russian amps. I wonder if these will be as cheap, though. That was the main thing they had going for them. My Red Bear was point to point wired, loud as I needed it to be in a punk band, rugged as hell, sounded great and cost me something absurd like $400 used.

I keep seeing the originals around, but never played one. How would you describe this amp tonally? Is it similar to a Bassman/early Marshall? or something totally different?

Just going on memory, the 50 was a Bassman (I assume blackface Bassman head, not tweed), the 60 was a Marshall (Plexi? JCM 800? Both?) and the 100 was... I have no idea. I own a Mig 60, bought it new many years ago when they first came out, still works great and I've had zero issues with it over the years. It sounds pretty good but I wouldn't want to be buried with it. They were pretty popular back in the '90s and I recall hearing and seeing quite a few. The Mig 100 was often said to be the best of the lot, though that was the '90s when big and loud was cool, even when you were playing a gig in someone's basement in front of 6 kids. I never got to hear a Mig 30, which some said was the best of them all. Those are crazy rare.

50H, 60, 100 and 100H are all JCM800 variants from what I've read.

I'm very familiar with JCM800 and MIG100, and they both sound pretty darn close.
MIG50 sounds like a YBA1, and YBA1 is a Bassman (5F6A) clone. Never heard a original Bassman or JTM45 before though.

EHX has been posting and sharing a lot of Sovtek MIG photos lately... I think the reissue is happening.

I have a Mig 30. I also have a Mig 50 and have owned a Mig 100. The Mig 100 was my least favorite. Way too loud for the most part, and the tone just seemed harsh no matter what you did. I also had some issues with it and eventually got rid of it.

The 30 and 50 I have both sound great. I really don't have a preference. The 50 definitely gets louder, but when used through the same cab, you can get them to sound pretty similar. Lately I've been using the 30 more. They used the wrong transformer in the Mig 30 giving it a different sound.
Mike Matthews explains it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At1e1L6OC4Y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I found one of the EHX prototypes and put a down payment on it. I will hopefully have it in the next few weeks. Being a fan of the old Sovtek stuff, I am very excited about this amp. It should have better build quality than the old Sovteks.

It's very true to the original Russian made Mig50. Input 1 is essentially a bassman and input 2 is more plexi sounding. I jump the two and blend. For being such a simple amp you can get some amazing tones.

I just picked up a Mig30 last week. I plan on posting a/b videos of this reissue, mig50, mig60, mig30 and mig50h.

These are the chinese production models. If you notice the label in the bottom left on the face plate, the original 18 that were built in USA say "New York City USA" and the recent production models say "50 Watt Tube Amplifier"

The Mig had an appearance at NAMM this year too. You can see it in the background of most EHX demos.

Hi guys !

Do someone knows if they'll be available in France (or Europe at least) someday ?

And in the video we can see an EHX cab, who know or have an idea of it's price ?
