BF Bassman.. speakers???
I think I'll go with a Bassman when I buy a new amp in a couple months.. I got an empty 4x12 recently and have really liked greenbacks in my AC30's and a Marshall combo I had years ago, I was thinking about going with them for this cab but I wanted see what other speakers I should look into. Most of you know my style of music and the fact I like lots of fuzz and effects so I don't want anything that'll fart out easily

Here is my 63 Bassman combo... Mine is matched up w/ a 4x10 Marshall 1965a cab. This gives killer tone and much like a Tweed Bassman in this configuration.
I recently noticed this is exactly what Brian Setzer uses. A Blonde Bassman and the Marshall 4x10

Gonads are useful for their purpose, but are NO substitute for brains.

Re: BF Bassman.. speakers???
you guys are killing me!
man I've sold so many things I regret.. trust me, I know how tough it is!
I think I'm just going to go with four weber signatures since they're fairly cheap and I assume they sound good based on what I've read.
So what's the best way to wire it and what ohm speakers should I get for a four ohm amp?

I've got a 2x12 cab with one Celestion Vintage 30 and one Celestion G12H30 that sounds great with my TubeWorks head. The TubeWorks is pretty straight-forward, 60 watts, 2x6L6, able to get pretty Fendery on the clean side and it sounds great through the Celestions. Kick on the Rat and .
Although I'm also real happy with the Weber Sig in my Champ, so I don't think you can go wrong.

I do a 68 bassman into a 2x12 fender cab loaded with 2 celestion vintage 30's. I use fuzz, overdrive, and plenty of phasing and modulating. It all sounds pretty defined.

I would do the series/parallel wiring. If you get 4 four ohm speakers, you can get the 4ohm total load you need. Wire them so that you have two sets in series, which would be 8 ohms per pair. Then wire those two pair in parrallel, which gives you 4 ohms total.daydreamdelay wrote:

I just sold that BF Bassman I had a few months ago It sounded really nice, but I just wasn't using it. It was by far the cleanest BF Fender I've ever owned too.

yeah I have a tough time justifying keeping things that sit around too.. I always opt to sell it and buy something I will use
pedals for the most part don't count
