The speakers I'm getting off my friend...

Post by zhivago » Tue Oct 03, 2006 5:47 am

...they come from a Marshall JTM60 (3x10 version)

I just found out the exact make:

5.3Ω Marshall Heritage Eminence LE10-508 speakers

Image

does the fact that they are 5.3Ω, make it impossible to wire up for use with my Tremolux 2x10 combo cab?

many thanks in advance

Hmm .. trying to do the maths in my head I don't think you're going to get to 4Ω.

In series will be 10.6Ω and in parallel .. I don't even know .. 2.6Ω?

However, Fender amps are usually happy with a factor of 2 either way, so it should cope up to 8Ω or down to 2Ω. It just might not sound its best, I'm guessing?

If you got all 3 and  wired 2 in series and one paralell to that you should get 3.54 ohms.

Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

Hey yeah, I didn't click there were three of them. That would be very cool .. like a blonde version of the tweed Bandmaster.

However, I think you've already got the 2x10" cab sorted, right? Impossible to squeeze another 10" speaker into that ..

Or get a single 10" cab and put in in parallel with the other one. You too could own a stack! Rock on!

I'd love to, but I'm broke :(

as it is I had to stick this cab on my credit card...only did that because the band's gonna start gigging frequently now

but once I'm a RAWK star, I'll buy 20 cabs!!!!!

:D
