Re: "Most Popular" amp among Jaguar players ?
I use the same amp for everything, basses included . It's a '76 Orange Overdrive 120 head with some Orange cabs. In my experience, Jaguars don't seem to be real picky about amps. I also have a Vox AC30 and an older blackface Bandmaster that sound great with them too. In general, I like a darker sounding amp most of the time though, regardless of which guitar I'm using and the Orange is perfect for that. But, I've never run across an older Fender amp that I didn't like.

I can use about any tube amp with a good clean sound, the twin reverb will always be my main live amp and a vox for the studio.

I tried many amps, and found out that my guitars and my pedals (especially distortion) sound the best through a Marshall. I sold my 1959SLP reissue a few months ago, now my main amp is a JCM2000 DSL50 + 2x12". For recoding sessions, I add a Fender Concert Reverb combo, for more sound variations and stereo effects.

I had one of those for a couple years. It was a nice sounding amp, but was a little too mushy for me. However, that might be an advantage to some folks. The one thing I didn't like was that the tone controls weren't very effective and the volume controls were too sensitive.SirJackdeFuzz wrote:

My Valve Jr sounds awesome at 3 o clock, neck pickup with the strangle on.
So at the moment that's my favourite.

Fender amps for me. Im currently using a twin reverb. I really think the fender tube amps and guitars are well matched.
I prefer their older stuff.

the Fender Libra
Perfect for the fender clean thang... spanky. warm and tubular even, but it gives that state-of-solidity brightness tone if you flick the bright switch and tweak the EQ.
I have no idea how it sounds distorted and I don't care... though I'll give it a chance once I get a decent pedal (better than the danelectro fab...)
As it is, it won't distort with either the Jag or the Stang. 100 watts, all the way up to 10, and no breakup. That's headroom.

Re: "Most Popular" amp among Jaguar players ?
I like old amps not many people use(due to being poor). they sound good and give you your own sound, I am using a Alamo Fury 1x15 combo that i LOVE it's really an awesome dirty amp. i need to get a new Sunn Concert Lead amp(through a 1x15 cab, i love 15" speakers) for cleans b/c i really have to say, although it's solid state, it has one of the best clean tones i've ever heard. I had mine a week and it died
i wouldn't mind a Twin Reverb and a Tiny Terror tho.

I turned my attention to the AD30TC, because i am trying to get a ball-park sound for some classic/vintage/retro rock - think, Led Zep/Wolfmother !

Yes.... I used to have a Acoustic 150 that sounded supernice for clean sounds (loved the tremelo sounds///)jagermeister wrote: solid state is amazing for clean...

Mostly I use my Laney AOR series head for really dirty sounds, and my silverface Super reverb (which I just got recently, I looooove it) for crunchy/trashy/bratty bright distortion and shimmery clean sounds... its prolly my favorite amp... it really rips and cuts through with the jag
