VOX AC15 - Which do you suggest?....
I'm looking at buying a new amp.
I was originally gonna hold out for an AC30 but get the feeling it'll just be too loud & too damn heavy.
I'm thinking the AC15's would make more sense. I'm particularly interested in getting an amp with Reverb & Tremolo.
Any suggestions or tips regarding which one to choose?

Within the past couple of years Vox produced a hand-wired, tan covered AC-15 that was really nice IMO. IIRC the retail on it was around 1000 USD. If you were considering an AC-30CC then you should check out the AC-15CC. IMO the AC-15 is a great alternative to the AC-30 (I prefer amps of 20 watts or less). The only experience I have with the AC-15CC, though, is about 20 minutes with a few of them at GC. Two of which were pretty lackluster but one of them was really sweet.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the $$ for it

Yeah, you're talking about the Heritage amps released for their 50th anniversary. I'd love one but they're almost twice the price.
Anyone any idea if any other AC's are handwired?
I'm looking at whichever amp I buy as being a keeper, I'd hopefully never worry about amp buying again, so maybe splashing out an extra £300 wouldn't be so bad.

The handwired models sound really nice, but I think even they might be improved upon with higher quality components. I use the AC15CC (with the blue) for home and impromptu jamz. It's also got the trem and reverb that the handwired doesn't have. It's perfect for what I need it to do, but if I started playing in a band again I think I'd have to get something louder.

If you are looking for a lot of clean headroom, look elsewhere. But if you like a little dirt and girth to your Vox chime, then you'll be fine. The Heritage series has the ef86 channel which is the shizzle for great overdrive. The cc series doesn't have that, but does have the reverb and trem, though the reverb ain't great. I have a real 1965 AC15 and a A/B'd it with a heritage ac15 and they were pretty dern close. A great value if you can pick one up with the blue speaker for under $900.

I just bought an ac30cc it's not to loud at all, it has the most useable master volume of any amp I've owned. The 30 has 3 handles so I just get my bandmated to chip in plus you have the 1/2 power switch. I don't like the 15 as mutch because you have fewer controls, the Cut control is what makes a Vox a Vox IMHO and the newer 15's don't have it. Also you don't get the custom tone switches or reverb controls or chanel jumper.
