Need Advice.... VOX AC-30

Post by forevergone » Tue Jan 27, 2009 10:45 am

I'm in a peculiar situation where I'm on the verge of buying the amp but was wondering what your opinions are in terms of pricing and given the amp's history:

The amp is question is a VOX AC-30 CC2 and the amp has a history apparently. The person said he has had the amp fixed due to speaker problems or faulty wiring issues. He's gotten it fixed and I'm going to go test the amp out before I buy it although I've lowered the price to about $750CDN (620 USD). I've tried out the amp itself in music stores and I love it. The person lives about 1 1/2 hours away from where I live so it's probably going to be a one time trip there when I purchase it.

Is it a good deal and is there anything I should be wary of?

if it works i would buy one for 620 usd. yeah man. test it out and if it speaks to yoy buy it. what i usually tell people is to ask yourself what it is worth to you. if you pay that than you got the good price. if you pay less it is a good deal. no matter what the actual price.

Give it a good work out, but it's going to be hard to beat that price.
You can't even get a Ceriatone or Weber VST clone for US$620!
Even though you can't expect to defeat the absurdity of the world, you must make that attempt. That's morality, that's religion. That's art. That's life.

I bought one this week for $700usd I think the wharfdales sound okay, you can allways change the speakers later. I had a 90's Korg reissue and the newer CC sound better IMHO they are everything that's ever been good about an ac30.
