Tremolux head...which cab?

Post by Gill » Sun Jan 14, 2007 2:35 pm

Hi All,

I'm on the hunt for a 2x10 cab for my '66 Tremolux head...any opinions on which cabs are top quality?  I've been looking into possibly buying a Weber cab or perhaps a Dr. Z.  I've heard nothing but good about both but I'm wondering if anyone prefers one over the other or if there's another brand I should be checking out as well...

Thanks,

Gill

I got a '65 Tremolux and went completely the opposite way...

meaning, I got tired of hunting a matching 2x10 cab, so I got in touch with JD Newell, who made me a combo cab, that I put the amp in...now it looks like this:

Zhivago,

That is really sweet...is that about the size of a Deluxe?  What's the speaker combo in there...did you stick with 2x10 or looks like maybe a 1x12?

I hadn't considered putting the Tremolux chasis into a combo-style cab...

That is very nice!

You've given me a few new ideas to play with...this seems like it would be a good route to go.

Much easier to transport than a head & cab, for sure.

if you do decide to get a combo cab made, I'd definitely recommend the JD Newell one...it looks amazing...great build quality...and pretty cheap too :)
