Alamo Fury Tube amp! mine for $30 :) (mucho pictures)

Post by Mr M » Wed Dec 06, 2006 12:38 pm

Got this the other day at the Flea market for $30 the little green tag says 35 but i only had $31 on me ;D

the switch was mounted on the outside which i quickly fixed as you can see!

Sounds wonderful! I love it!

The tubes are 1 Silvania 7868 and 1 no name 7868(i think it needs replacing, it has a little circle burn in it) and a 1 Slivania 12AX7. both Silvania's say Made in the U.S.A.!!!!

i like when it overdrives but the clean sound is where it really excells!

I guess I need to go to more flea markets.
Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

Nice score on the Alamo! What kind of speaker configuration does it have? I don't know much about them. I've never had any luck at pawn shops or flea markets myself.

It was originally designed to be a bass amp, so it's got 1 15" speaker!!! (Although mine has both guitar and bass inputs)

i love 15's!!!

That is awesome!

I like 15s a lot too. They seem to work really well for what I do.

Yeah, it's a '70 Fender. It has both 15s mounted vertically too, so it is a little different than some of the ones that had them offset slightly. I don't know why they made the change, but it is a really, really big cab. The size probably helps make it sound bigger too. It sounds great.

thats sweet man! Sometimes I wish there where pawnshopshere in the Netherlands. Most of the fleamarkets have few guitars, and most of them are hunted down by bargainhunters who got to the fleamarktes really early. :o

Yups I know I can probaly score a few deals if I go really early to a fleamarket, but still its hard to find them though. Thats one of the disadvantages of living in a small ( and I mean really small) country. You can drive from one side of the country to the other, so when there is a fleamarkter somewhere, bargainhunters are coming in from all over the country. And with a quite active group of musicians here in the Netherlands, you have to be quick, or lucky.
But still, at the moment I have plenty in the way of guitars and amps. I'm still a student and my room is allready packed with instruments ( hardly any place left for me to study ;))
