...Good point. All of them. I could see a reverb coming out based on what you said. I can't imagine I'd grab one since I really like my Surfy Bear - but I can see why other people may be interested.

But this seems like it could be more of an indicator for brownface amps. A brownface Pro, Super, or Virboverb would all fill a niche that the blackface amps currently produced don't offer. This could also be paired with a brown reverb unit. They could even make the concert since they're already producing the Super Reverb cab...
Oh, man, if they came out with a TM Concert 4x10 and be as light as the TM Super, it would put me out of my long-term GAS misery. I'd love a vintage Concert but I don't want to deal with the weight. :?

If they came out with a TM Super 2x10 or TM Vibroverb 2x10, I'd go for either.

Re: reverb units - I have no need for one but I would recommend to anyone to compare the price of a TM Reverb Unit offering to the SurfyBear offerings, which are priced far below even used Fender '63 Reissue Reverb Units now. As mentioned in the thread, SurfyBear reverb offerings all use actual spring reverb pans.

Saying this as someone who has a vintage Fender Reverb Unit, I find the flatter SurfyBear Classic to be preferable to bring along to a gig than the old boxy Fender Reverb Unit, even if a TM...

How about a TM Vibro King? (Maybe as well as the reverb unit)
Near the top of my Fender amps that could be lighter wish list.

That actually makes a lot of sense, given that the Vibro King weigh a healthy 72-73 lbs. I've owned two but eventually moved them on because they're just too frikkin' heavy. I'd be very excited for a TM Vibro King for gigging and built-in attenuator.

AFAIK, it's the only Fender "brown" amp's reverb that sounds like an actual onboard outboard reverb unit. Sounds great. The '63 Vibroverb and "Custom" Vibrolux (I've had both) onboard reverb pans sounded the same as your black panel '65 RI amps like a Deluxe or Twin. 8)

When is the next Fender event? When could they realistically announce this thing? I presume it's got to be close if they're trying to build hype for a Christmas market.

That's kinda cool, but they didn't really showcase any amp models or tones that blew me away either. I know it was just a short demo kind of thing, but it would've been cool to show what model they were using, so you'd know if it sounded remotely close or not...

Surely some kind of amp version with all the amp models in, in head, 1x12 and 2x12 format, could happen?

Doubtful, considering they're releasing it FR cabinets with it. If you want a traditional looking amp setup, you just plug it into one or two of those.

A head version would be much more expensive, because you'd still need a foot controller with the scribble strips in order to not bork the functionality, so you'd just be adding a tolexed head enclosure to the existing pedalboard format for no particular reason.

Yeah, still would be so ace to be able to get a TR, SR, PR, DR and Princeton all in one though... even if they all pretty much sound the sameish... but with specific IRs into a FR 2x12 cab would still be cool as an 'all-in-one' blackface Fender solution.

Would probably cannibalize their lineup too much. If you want flexibility, you go for this unit. If you want simplicity, you go for a TM amp.

An all-in-one BF amp with a simple dial that chooses between their current TM offerings would really render all of the others obsolete. Nobody would buy a Deluxe, Twin, Super, etc anymore if there was a 1x12 or 2x12 combo that contained all of them.

Besides, if you want that from the new floor unit, all you have to do is load up the standard amp and add/change nothing in terms of stompboxes, IRs, etc.

There's a Deluxe with its standard cabinet IR, a Bassman, a Twin, etc...you buy the 2x12 FR cabinet, connect the two together, and you have all those basic amp tones instantly with no need to deep dive into menus or anything.

It's just that you can then also set up more elaborate patches with loopers and FX chains and swapped IRs and whatnot, if you choose to do so.

Personally, I spent 5 years with a Kemper using only two profiles for everything (and AC20 and a JCM800), because I found they could get all the tones I needed. Every patch was just one of those amps with the knobs tweaked for a particular guitar/song.

you could just buy an empty amp head and stick it on one of those cabs to look "COOL".
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Super expensive. I'm kind of the weird old man where I have expensive tube amps, but I love the Tone Master twin I have. I can see the advantage of the new Tone Master thing... But it's damn expensive. I can't see myself ever getting one. I'd had scooped up any Brown or Blonde Tone Master they made, though.

I do wonder what is next for the Tone Master lineage, now.
