Awesome!  I think I'm going to have to get myself one of these heads.  It's almost too cheap not to.

Yeah, went pretty quickly.  Very good instructions, not too much to mess up, though, really.  I just didn't want to get dead!

I can post the instructions for you, but I don't know how much help they will be.  The kit came from eBay and it had the switches all wired up, decals too.  All I had to do was solder them in, drill holes in the front panel and apply the decals.

Let me know if you still want the instruction, though, I can scan them in.

I also added a JJ el84 and I ordered a 12ax7, but got sent the wrong one, so the stock preamp tube is in there.  I'm pretty sure the JJ makes it sound a little smoother, fuller, can't wait for the right preamp tube!

The stock Sovtek EL84s are pretty dicey. the EH is a little better but I really like the Sovtek EL84M. JJs are good too.

If you want a little less gain and a little wider sound try the Sovtek 5751 in the preamp...

So the guy I bought a preamp tube from sent me the wrong one, and I got the right one yesterday.  Holy ...  Much nicer with the JJ in the pre now.  The amp sounded a little dark before with the stock pre and JJ power, but now it's nice and bright if I want it.  I don't like it with my basses, but the guit sounds better, considering I don't have a tweeter or anything in the cab.

TheMilford, do you still want a scan of the instructions?

Cool... thanks!

A good "lesson" would be to really study that schematic to try to understand what you were looking at and what you did.

Not a "small" amp like a 2W miniMat, or a 1/2W like the VZex, but i LOVE my Blues Jr  :-*

15Watts can sound bloody huge through a 4x12  1960 Marshall cab  8)

I still have some major long-term GAS for a First Lady (7W) Matamp, that just doesn't want to go away !  ;)
