New amp day - Sharma 3200

Post by dryjoy » Sun Nov 03, 2019 3:03 am

New amp day!

A UK made Leslie clone with 320W of amplification (total rating 530W including the hefty motors).

I purchased it go with a Hammond L122 (another recent acquisition). I’ve fitted the Leslie connector kit and switches, and it sounds lovey - but it also (unlike most leslies) has a jack instrument input. I plugged a Dan Electro in yesterday - it sounds great for guitar as well.

Total overkill in terms of size and power as I don’t intend to take this out for gigs, but it’s really nice and something totally different for me. I had a go at recording it yesterday - sounds great.

I’d be interested to know if anyone else has encountered these?

Buddy Guy played through the Leslie (or whatever rotating speaker was at the studio) for part of the session that became Junior Wells's "Hoodoo Man Blues" (on Delmark).

So you have history on your side!
