I've had one of the 410s (basically the Bassman config) 50 watt versions of this amp for 20+ years. I love it to the point where I've never really felt the need to get anything else. They're great amps.

So I got one of these, but I can't think of how to install it. The holes are on the inside and I am not sure how you get your arm and screwdriver inside to screw it on...

Ha ha, they got you!

But seriously, if you slide the chassis out, can you do it? Maybe you have to thread bolts through the guard side and put nuts on from inside the chassis.

Got it installed. It was a huge pain in the ass. I couldn't get the screws to just screw in so I marked the holes with a sharpie. Then I took the grate off and drilled pilot holes. I put the grill back on and (with my arm wrapped behind it) slowly and painfully screwed it in. I had to remove the tubes. It was slightly easier having it on its side so that I could push down with one finger while twisting the screw in with the other hand. I still have marks on my hands and arms though.. LOL

Well it's done! :)

Ah, I thought it screwed to the chassis, not the cabinet. Looks like it was meant to be there. 👍🏼

Looks nice!

If you need to take it off, or install another one on a different amp, you can pick up an angle driver for cordless drills. Milwaukee makes them, as do other people, and they're like $20 at Home Depot. Like this:

I played a tweed 4x10 old style Classic 50 for a long time live. One of the best amps I've ever owned... Just a REALLY good sounding amp for a variety of uses. Grossly underrated and very often overlooked because it says "Peavey" on it. They are outstanding.
same,i gigged with one of these for almost a decade, very good amps
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Peavey have made some great amps over the years. My main two amps are a piggyback Bassman coupled with a Boogie F50 but recently they've proven to be a bit of a logistical nightmare. After trying a few alternatives i finally set on your amps grandfather as it were. It's a late 70's Peavey VT Classic and it sings.

I’ve got a Deluxe Reverb II with a Cannabis Rex and a 90s Classic 50/410. I switch them up from time to time. For the past few months I was using the Fender. I enjoyed the clarity and sort of in your face chime, even with the CR inside. Last week I switched back to the Peavey and had tons of fun. The amp with stock speakers is more forgiving than the Fender. I could bash on the guitar and make mistakes, controlled feedback in all kinds of unnecessary places, sound louder without actually being louder. It is a lot of fun. I can go back to being annoying and spontaneous rather than stuffy and noticeably unpracticed.

I feel that way about the US Peavey guitars. You can still get them cheap because they are Peavey guitars. They are really solid and sound good.
Yeah, my first good bass was a Peavey T-40, and it was badass. I pawned it after I first left home and have regretted it ever since, I still miss it. I may have to look into getting another one. My first decent bass amp was a Peavey TKO, after I literally blew my beginner amp up by trying to boost the power a good bit (a good bit too much). Solid little amp, though, it lasted me until I got out to L.A. and I bought an SWR. Peavey is definitely Mississippi steel, it's pretty much what was used back in the '80s - just about everybody had Peavey because it was affordable and pretty damn dependable. I still have an old Peavey PA and tower speakers, the PA kind of works but needs a lot of work (clips horribly), but the tower speakers are still kicking, probably 40 years later. I need to sell it as a project to someone that can and will fix it up that doesn't need 300 watts of bass from their PA.

A repair shop near me had one of those Classic 30s, a pretty old model for sale, with that same tweed look. I didn't even want to try it out, because I had already gotten talked into buying an Acoustic bass head that I didn't really need, for a good price. It looked pretty cool and he said it was a very good and underrated amp, and I trust this guy implicitly.

Hell of a job on that amp, it looks nice and damn near indestructible!

I used to be able to dial in a really nice tone with the one of these i had, i owned a few of the 4x10 ones in the past too but the 1x12 is the best.
I'm leaning towards getting one of these again in the future once i sell off bandmaster #2

Seems like they should be somewhat easy to get, since they're not something boutique or highly sought after. Actually, since Peavey has typically been more of a working man's amp, it should be more of a sleeper, really. Hopefully not very expensive, as they go.

Damn, I may have to go back & see if he still has that one at his shop and give it a run.

And the last thing I need is another guitar amp. Or bass amp. But, maybe if the price is right and the tone is sweet...
