Orange Amplifiers with Minimoog - a including spambot replying to another spambot

I'm looking at buying a old vintage Minimoog Model D. I'm wondering what affordable amp manufactured by Orange Amplifiers https://waveadvice.com/orange-amps/ would be a good match for the Minimoog.

As an added criteria, I want to be able to run a bass guitar through the same amp (though not simultaneously).

I would post this same question on the Orange Amp forum, but I want only Moog enthusiasts to help me on this one.

Thanks!

Hmmm, I'm not qualified as a Moog enthusiast, but I did have a RS micro moog and a couple of old Rolands with actual knobs and sliders.
As far as Orange amps suitable for synth, I own an OR15 and an AD30, and would not suggest either of them.
The best suited Oranga amps for synth/ Moog would be the big ones which are not cheap.
Or the big SS ones which are cheap but I've never tried.
To amplify a Moog for the Moog sounds I love I'd want massive clean bass output, and Orange is more about the dirt.
A Hiwatt would be a good guitar amp for a Moog, or maybe an old Marshall Super Bass 100/ Super Lead 100.
The Orange OR120 might sound pretty good but again, it will have distorted low end, so when you want to hear Moog you'll hear Orange.

The SS Orange amps are pretty well regarded and affordable, maybe the 60 or the 120 would sound good.

Edit: Googled and discovered Orange makes affordable SS bass amps.
For synth and bass guitar with an Orange amp those might be the way to go.

Agree 100% that solid state bass amps are the only Oranges I would personally run a Moog through unless you're springing for the massively powered Matamp models, which have enough low end and power for the job.

I have to ask though...why Orange in particular? They're not the first company that springs to mind for synth amplification.

I don't know much about using moog with amps, not either orange amps in particular, but the Rocker 32 is stereo. Maybe that's something you find important? But it ain't cheap, though.

Found the bot. They will often copy old posts to appear legitimate at first.

Either that or this guy has been trying to get the same question answered for 14 years and still hasen't bought that Minimoog.

That bot needs to get itself a keyboard amp or it's gonna be losing highs!

You answered your own question. You want to alternate between Minimoog and bass guitar, so buy a bass amp. That narrows it down, now all you need to decide is how much wattage you need. If you're playing live on stage, you need minimum 200 watts. In the studio, a smaller amp will suffice. I'm not familiar with the Orange amp line, but you can search on this website

^ We've come full circle, where a spambot replies to another spambot.

(Does anyone else get creeped out by stuff like this?)
