New amp day! Swart STR Tremolo!
Honeymoon stage, sure, but this might be the perfect couch amp. 5 Watts and beauuuutiful trem and reverb. Totally dreaming about running two of these in stereo, or getting one of Swart’s more powerful amps.
Anyone rocking the Swart stuff here?

What a great lookin amp!
What are the far two switches? I’m interested in rocket and lightning mode.

I like it too, but I kind of want to take the giant logo off. Didn't bother me 'til I got it home.
Sure sounds great, though!
Ha, just power and standby. The other switch is kind of a voicing thing to go along with the tone - a bit of a bass cut one way, the other two positions are quite similar.thisisnickpaige wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 1:09 amWhat a great lookin amp!

Well when you put it like that it all seems so obvious.
Nah man, keep the logo. I think it would look really weird and naked without it. I agree it’s not the best lookin’ logo, but it’s better with, than without, for sure.

When I was on vacation, there was a Swart dealer around the corner of our apartment ....now add 1 and 1 together ....
Thank you Finnair for the additional trouble and charge on the flight back home
I spent more on that vacation than I wanted, it still hurts but it was worth it !!

it's just really lovely. i've never been much of a reverb guy, but this is killer. Trem, too, big time.

Ooooh, congrats! Was dangerously close to ordering a head/cab version of this a couple months back as a lower wattage stand in (maybe replacement ?) for my AST Pro but ran into a Jet that scratched my itch just before I hit the breaking point...
I love the logo on it personally, seems pretty integral to the aesthetics of the amp to me which is one of many really great points of the Swarts IMO.

I also like the logo, but I feel like the tweed aesthetics are sometimes at odds with it.Sid Nitzerglobin wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 8:20 pmOoooh, congrats! how long have you had the AST Pro? Really thinking about that one or the new Antares for a more gig-ready amp.Sid Nitzerglobin wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 8:20 pmOoooh, congrats! I wish someone made reverb like this in pedal form! absolute zero splat and just lush.
not exactly surf-approved but just sooo good.

I guess it's been about 2-2.5 years. Snagged it used locally.loudwizard wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 2:32 amhow long have you had the AST Pro? Really thinking about that one or the new Antares for a more gig-ready amp.

It's a great tweed-y amp w/ what I'm assuming should be at least a very similarly great trem and verb as your STR. I've had a set of NOS Tung Sol 6V6s and 5Y3GT rectifier in it and it's getting into breakup and crunch on all but the lightest of pick hits about noon on the volume knob w/ most of my guitars. Seems to have plenty of volume (a bit too much for late night solo practice/noodling) but limited headroom at band volume. IIRC, Using a 5AR4 rectifier you can swap to 6L6s for more headroom and power if you want them.
My only minor complaint w/ it is the rear facing control panel means that I generally wind up using it as a weird shaped head, that part of the design seems like a requirement for the awesome look and tube tinkering friendly access to the amp chassis though so I'm good w/ it.

Cool. Yeah, I am leaning towards trying the Antares since the controls are on the top like my STR Tremolo. I definitely don't want to always have to get behind the amp to adjust the trem.Sid Nitzerglobin wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 10:03 amI guess it's been about 2-2.5 years. Great score! It also fixes the back-facing controls of the AST, which bugged me.
I'd still have the AST, if not for the Pierce Secret Agent and that damn Bilt...
