Haven't heard back yet. Will let you all know. :) He did have to take it apart and test it. If he charges me, it seems fair even though it wasn't broken after all. Still used up his time and labor to confirm it is ok.

He is going to charge me $40 which is his minimum bench fee. Seems totally fair to me for having to pick the amp up and troubleshoot it. :) I should get it back by Friday depending on if I can get out to Port Orchard.

I got the amp back home from my mothers. She picked it up, but wasn't able to drive it back to me. I got it taken apart so I could add a handle. I measured front to back and marked it to get the center. Then I put a strip across center to mark where the handle needed to be.

Next I hammered in the screw pieces that hold the handle.

Flipped it over and put the handle on. Went on pretty easily.

Then I got the front plate off the amp. It is really heavy thick metal.

Then I sprayed it black. Still needs more coats.

Thanks! Me too. I finished the color coats. I will let it cure all week and then wipe on some poly to try to help protect the black finish.

Awesome!! I'm glad you took it apart and are painting it. It deserves to look as good as it sounds!

Whelp I had to go a different direction. I put the stickers on. It peeled the clear coat up. The kinko's ones on clear decal couldn't be seen well because they were see through. I decided since it peeled the clear off anyways, I would just hand paint it. I think it should look interesting. I put orange around where the pots and stuff are because otherwise it is black knobs on black backing. Here it is. LOL

Once it dries, I will get it mounted and the amp back together.

All back together!! :D I think it turned out really well. I can hear the boost and presence if I keep the gain down low and turn the volume up instead. Strange circuit, but I really like it.

I am pretty happy with how it looks honestly. It makes me smile every time I walk by it. It didn't turn out as professional and clean looking as I had planned, but it has a cool look to it that I think is just as good if not better than I had planned.
