Hey, my 6v6 tubes in both amps are over, so I am wondering, which to take. Both amps were controlled by my tech and are in good working order and play very well, but little improvement of sound would help.
1. which 6V6 tubes to take for my 1964 bf princeton - it is missing middle´s.
2. What would you recommend for 1950 TV deluxe amp, which has tuns of middles and missing trebles? It also get distorted too soon (at nearly 2 and half from 10, at 4 it is already fully distorted). Cheers and many thanks for your thoughts.

I can't see a location next to your user name, so I'm not sure where you're based.Guitarman555 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 11:59 pmHey, my 6v6 tubes in both amps are over, so I am wondering, which to take. I've previously bought tubes/valves from www.watfordvalves.com - they're based in the UK and usually have a pretty good stock of 6V6 valves. I use a SF Princeton Reverb and I sourced all of my NOS valves from them. For my own use I'm a big fan of General Electric 6V6s (as well as the Mazda 6V6s) - they sound pretty great in my SFPR. I've also used RCA 6V6s - I've a pair that I'm holding as a spare for when mine eventually die. Their valve write ups are pretty accurate in terms of their recommendations - I've found that they generally do what they say they'll do in terms of how the different valves influence the sound.
Maybe drop them a mail to see what they recommend. Generally I'll usually go for NOS/Dead stock valves over modern valves - they're a lot more robust in my experience, especially the valves that were manufactured to military spec.
