Make it loud here.

Just get the ones sized for your cable and you will likely be fine. While they are magnetic, they are not charged magnets, they form an RF choke with the wire in the cable which filters out RF, converts it to heat which is dissipated off. Generally the snap on ones sized for your cable will do the job, they already did the math and sized the ferrite to the conductors it is meant to fit on. If it does not you can get one that has an inner diameter of 5 or 6 times the cable and loop the cable through it as many times as will fit, this is more effective but the result is quite large with thick power cables. You will also want to play abit with where on the cable you place the ferrite, it will likely be most effective near the plug end, but try both ends and even the middle. A power conditioner can indeed help as well, but ferrites are the good first try since they are dirt cheap and often times solve the problem completely.

If you know any HAM radio sorts, ask them for help, they generally know this stuff well.

Looks like the problem is fixed. That was easy. Thanks!

So I still have the radio sound if I have a long cable between pedals and the amp. Also all of my pedals work ok with my power supply, except one make a high pitched buzz when engaged. I sent it to the builder and he gave it a clean bill of health, so I am blaming it on these damn towers.

Why not stick a ring on the amp end of the long cable, near the plug?

Or just put "GO METS" banners on all the towers and give it a day.

Oh, I've got rings all over everything now. Not a total cure.

Poo. That was my experience, too. They really helped, though.

Better troll the phillies fans, then.

Try different types of cables for between pedals and amp, not all cables are equal when it comes to shielding. The shield of a cable creates a capacitor with the conductor, sometimes they skimp on the shielding to reduce capacitance since this capacitance creates a lowpass filter and kills HF response. It is all a balancing act of conductor, shield and insulation, and sometimes you just need to try a different cable, the length may not be the issue, your long cable may just have sacrificed shielding for lower cost or capacitance. And as always, use the shortest cable practical, the longer the cable the longer the antenna.

For the troublesome pedal try running it off of battery or from its own supply, it may just be getting some noise from other pedals, if that solves it a ferrite for its power feed might help. If not try running it solo, pull it from the board and unplugging the pedal board from the wall, guitar>pedal>amp, nothing else, if that solves it that means it is getting the noise through the audio cables or from radiation from another pedal. Just changing its position on your board could be enough if it is just radiated interference, changing pedal order can help if it is through the audio lines. What sort of pedal is it? Do any of the controls effect the volume or tonality of the buzz? If so which ones? Do the controls of any of your other pedals in the chain affect the buzz? If so which pedals and which controls? Generally such noise comes from things with HF clocks, digital effects and BBD based delays/flangers/chorus, and they tend to effect pedals with some gain in them.

Had this problem in a NYC music studio, apparently right next to a Korean radio station. Came in loud and clear on my old Ampeg. The ferrite rings helped not one bit. The guitarist on the other side of the room had no interference. Moving the amp was the only way to lessen it. That may have been an unusual situation ... their tower could have been only a hundred feet away of not much more.
