Drip edge around the grille generally points to 68-70 but whatever the year, that's a lovely champ.

Yes, they only put that 'drip rail' around the edge of the grille in 1968, so it is the easiest year to date.

I would think it is closer to 68 than 70, given the vertical thin black lines on the face plate
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

def 68 with the black lines on the face. I had a similar backline Bassman that dated to Nov 1967 on the chassis (hand stamped date) and pot codes.
