Interesting Bassman mod -Guitologist
Anybody watch the Guitologist?
He does some pretty interesting work on old amps and things. He's also pretty funny and entertaining.
He just did this interesting video on the Bassman.
Check it out:

I love the neurotic comments from "vintage correct" dudes who get twisted out of shape when Brad (guitologist) changes a cap or any other random component to a fresh part. These dudes are hilarious. Get over it.

I will check it out. Thanks! I have seen one of his uploads before for sure.
Reminds me that I need to catch-up with the latest D-lab stuff.... most of the stuff is great, isn't it ? I also like to see his glass of red wine in almost every video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejQhsEIdsok
This was the first D-Lab video I've seen . "How to convert Fender solid state guitar amp to tube machine":

(sorry for the hi-jack)

All good! I wasn't aware of D-lab. I've only really checked out Guitologist and forum member Racing's amp channels.
I'm new to the intricacies of amp design and technology. I always hesitated to dive into it because there is so much to learn regarding electronics in general really.

Not a fan of the resulting sound, but it's partially the PRS I'm sure.

This dude is from my town - I love watching his stuff. Some of his tastes don't really align with mine, but he has a ton of good insight.

Man, I hear a KILLER amp underneath that PRS's tone. Would absolutely love to run an Offset through it. Offset-through-Marshall is my fav combo in the world, so this kinda-Marshallization of the amp absolutely works for my taste (unlike the guitar).marqueemoon wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:03 amNot a fan of the resulting sound, but it's partially the PRS I'm sure.

Yeah. I'm not a Marshall fan, so it doesn't do much for me.mbene085 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 4:16 pmMan, I hear a KILLER amp underneath that PRS's tone. So he modded an okay-sounding vintage amp to sound like a bad marshall amp? Cool, I guess.
