What are your favorite small/medium solid state amps?

I'm kind of missing my old JC-60, but I could use something a little smaller nowadays. What do you like?

Pathfinder 15r or SMR are solid. I briefly had a Quilter 101 Reverb that I liked a lot.

Pathfinder 15, on its own or into a 112 cabinet.

Crate(!) power block, as a power amp after a preamp pedal. Solid. The onboard pre is adequate, but it's really best as clean power.

Peavey Bandits.

Those Quilter amps have been turning my head lately, too.
This is an excellent rectangle

Not a sexy answer, but Roland Cube. Maybe not brilliant, but far better than you deserve for the money etc.

I consider my JC77 to be a medium sized amp. ;)

I have a soft spot for Peavey Bandits, after spending a lot of time playing one in an old rehearsal space in my formative years.

The Boss Katanas seem good.

I have Quilter 101 Mini head (version without reverb) since 3 years. I like that little amp a lot. It produces great combo amp tone when paired with open back cabs. With a proper choice of speaker it can deliver great big amp sound with a closed back cab.

I have Quilter Micropro Mach 2 head too, but prefer the cheap 101 Mini head.

Those DV Mark jazz combos are pretty neat. Weigh practically nothing too.

I had a Vox Pathfinder 15 EXR that I really regret selling. I have JC-20 and a JC-55 now that are pretty cool :)

If you can find an original one, a Roland Cube with chorus and reverb should sound pleasingly familiar.

I always thought the Fender Frontman range sounded great for the money too. Personally, I gravitate towards older (1970s/early '80s) transistor combos with a tremolo circuit (and reverb too if you're lucky).

+1

I bought one when I was really poor because it was cheap. I still have it 10 years later, I have a 60 and an 80. The tweed and blackface sounds are awesome. It's my grab and go jam amp when I don't feel like packing everything up.
