Thoughts? A 5 watt el34 amp sounds like it could be a great recording and bedroom amp

Into it. I'm curious to see how the pricing of 'em will be.

Every low-wattage tube amp deserves a try. There's no real way to translate specs to tone, but I'm willing to keep an open mind.

These will take an EL34:eurotrashed wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 10:26 pmI've never seen a low wattage amp with el34 power tubes before, so I'm excited. I'm not a fan of el84s.

Tried one of these last year. It's pretty great.

Of course neither are really trying to do the Marshall thing.

Re: Marshall Origin Series
This is/was a 5W single-EL34 Marshall that was capable of much more than the Slash signature would imply. Great amp, huge sounding for "only" 5W (had a very large cabinet for a 5W amp, that's probably partly why)eurotrashed wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 10:26 pmI've never seen a low wattage amp with el34 power tubes before, so I'm excited. These look very cool. Love the power switching options. 50 watt down to 1/2 watt. Nice Marshall crunch, but also clean.....
Maybe Marshall made a Fender.....

Re: Marshall Origin Series
"Marshall drive with Fender cleans" have been promised by many amps for many years. I don't think there was ever any agreement that it happened.
I love Marshall cleans, for the record

Re: Marshall Origin Series
I've been looking for a used Class 5 for a few months, and the Origin 20C with low wattage power scaling is super attractive. Seems like a great little amp.

I feel like this line might have been interesting 5-10 years ago.

Re: Marshall Origin Series
What's changed? It's a more "vintage Marshall" sounding DSL line, there's not really anything else competing with it. Small tube amps are either high gain (Orange, Blackstar) or Fender.SAVEStheDAY wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 12:21 pmI feel like this line might have been interesting 5-10 years ago.
