NAD: JC-40

Post by wooderson » Sat Jan 13, 2018 4:15 pm

Made a 45 minute drive to buy an old Randall RG-80 off of Craigslist, the seller never showed (just got a text three hours later that he missed all three of my texts that I was headed there, that I had arrived, where was he), so I salvaged the trip by hitting a shop I never go to because it's so far out of the way.

Turns out they were running a 20% off sale... and I wound up with a JC-40. I had been thinking about one for a while but didn't want to order blind because some people described them as sterile - definitely not my impression after finally seeing one in person. It's not warm but is... lush. Made the cheapo Squier Telecaster I grabbed off the wall sound fantastic, especially with a hint of the chorus.

Glad to hear these sound good. I would pull the trigger on one if roland used analog chorus. It's probably more a mental thing than actually a sonic thing for me. Post a clip

I still may end up snatching one eventually as a back up

One of my all time favorites. The Roland JC 40 is great with electrics, pedal steels and acoustics. It's the Swiss army knife of combo amps. Good luck with your new purchase!

Picked one up a while back. It’s fantastic, and punishingly loud if required.
