NAD: 1964 blonde Tremolux
So I've actually had this one for a few weeks but I've been too busy to photograph it until now. Bought it off Reverb from this really nice guy who personally delivered it to me the next day. It's a proper export model which means I don't have to fuck about with step down transformers, and it even came with its original vinyl covers which probably explains why the tolex and grille cloth still look so nice. Internally it's really nice and original too, aside from some of the valves and most of the electrolytics, which appear to have been replaced fairly recently. I went ahead and replaced the few remaining original electrolytics as this thing is going to sit around unused for long periods of time (as I hardly ever play guitar anymore) which would probably cause the originals to dry out and fail.
The only slightly annoying thing is that someone's gouged out the area underneath the 6L6s, presumably in order to install some taller valves, but whatever. It just means that I can buy whatever brand of valves I want without worrying about the height, which is actually a huge problem with my Vox AC50. Can't really comment on how it sounds yet as I've only used it for a few minutes for testing purposes, but it seems to sound really nice. Anyhow, here's some crappy pics of it under the christmas... plant. Because I'm too cheap to buy a tree.

Those are really cool amps! I've always meant to get one but figured it made more sense just to keep on with my '64 Bandmaster. The blonde/ wheat combo is the best in my biased opinion.

Thanks everyone! I finally got some spare time to properly try it out just before christmas and it's hands down the nicest sounding amp I've owned. IMO the only real crime it commits is not having reverb but whatever, maybe I'll buy a reverb pedal at some point.
Man that Bandmaster is awesome! Totally with you on blackface/blonde/wheat being the best colour scheme, for some reason I've never found the earlier brownface ones with the white knobs to be quite as aesthetically pleasing.i love sharin foo wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 12:45 pmThose are really cool amps! Wow!
If I were ever to sell my AC30HH and cab I'd hope to replace it with this exact set up.
I never dreamed they'd even be available in the UK for a reasonable price.
Just gorgeous!! Congratulations!

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

When I built my tweed Tremolux, I was worried about missing the Reverb, but I have to say that I don’t. There are so many other things to like about the sound that will come out of this Blonde that I doubt you’ll miss it either!Squirrel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2017 10:58 amThanks everyone!
