I gave away my bass amp to a friend in my now likely defunct noise outfit a few years ago. I haven't missed it much. Though I started out as a bass player, I mostly only play it when I'm recording at home through the computer. Still, playing my Squier VI through guitar amps has been unsatisfactory. The bass player in my other band was on the hunt for a new bass, and I found a CL bargain on a cool old Ovation Magnum for him. Lots of tonal possibilities in these:
Which bass also came with a dusty Sidekick pretty much gratis. My friend liked the Magnum so much, he offered the amp to me as a finder's fee. We had a hilarious round of bidding up his price, eventually agreed on $20 cash plus a really good beer at our next show, and now my SqVI has a proper amp. Of course, now I have to figure out where it will live.

For $20 and a damn good beer, that's amazing!
