... that being said there's a guy on Ebay trying to move a Frugal Amps 18 Watt lite with a cab for stupid cheap that I messaged asking if he'd just sell me the head. He said he'd think about it.

I would look for a Blackstar Artisan. They are good sounding amps for your price range, handwired and versatile. The Artisan 30 is solid.

Oh man, thread res.

Anyway, the timeline that ended up happening went something like this:

1. Bought an OCD and used that for awhile. Didn't totally hate it but didn't love it either.

2. Bought a Peavey Classic 30 has a "placeholder" amp and did a tour with it. It served it's purpose but sounded kind of blocky and wasn't my favorite.

3. Bought a Mesa Mini Recto and a 2x12 cab with V30s and was way happier. The Peavey eventually got sold to a friend as did the OCD (oddly enough two different players in the same band). Currently seeking out a smaller 1x12 so I have something I can play the amp at home since the big cab lives in my rehearsal space.

Would definitely grab another Avatar 18/other 1974x as a home recording amp, because those things sound great.

Carry on!
