Fender SF Vibrolux - Noisy Reverb?

Post by StevenO » Mon Sep 04, 2017 10:25 am

So I have this old 73 Vibrolux Reverb and it works great and sounds great, but it has a lot of hiss/wurring and the occasional popping sound when I have the Reverb knob turned up. What's going on here? Failing component or tube? I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas.

I'll just take it into ye ol' amp tech. I tried tubes in the reverb section and no dice.

could be cathode bypass caps (25uFx25v) or plate resistors (2x100k) in the reverb ckt.

I had the same issue with my 1966 vibrolux reverb. In my case it was caused by the footswitch's cable.
