Tube bass preamp for practice and recording

Post by Pepe Silvia » Fri Jun 09, 2017 10:28 am

I am currently bass amp-less and only use the bass as a tool at home. I really like the sound of bass through a big Orange Matamp. Any tube preamps that can deliver that sound for practice and recording?

There's a guy over at the talkbass forum that goes by the name of Azureskies, he makes a Matamp bass preamp. warning his backlog is pretty long though. I know nick at Dunwich has built something like that as well. I recently picked up a Blackhawk ODIN and that is based on the Matamp GT120. Maybe he can be coaxed into making just a preamp?

BTW - the ODIN is AWESOME.
