No love for Laney amps?
So, I'm trying to sell my Laney top. It's been weeks already and I get close to zero response. It's not even that people say they want to buy it, but my price is too high (which isn't) - it's just nobody even trying. I really wonder: Why is that? Is there no love for Laneys?

I don't play guitar in a band and I can't afford the Moog I want without selling stuff. But it's a really great amp. Its not that I sell it because I have loads of other better amps. I just don't have use for any guitar amp at all.jagstang wrote:hmmmm, why do you sell it?

Massive love for Laneys here.
Nothing beats a Supergroup, equivalent to a Plexi of the same era and yet a third of the cost, in Britain at least.
Which exact Laney amp head have you got? Might help us to help you out.
If its a high watter, then none of these amps are selling well, as no one wants or needs them. Its a bad time to sell currently, anything other than the most desirable stuff isn't moving. I got my Superlead cheap and expect to sell it cheap too and lose money.

Early 70s Laneys were top quality. In the late 80s and 90s, when their brand share expanded, they were associated with making cheap hybrid or solid state practice amps, which have little resale value. Which model are you trying to sell?

So, you say it's generally a problem atm to sell others than Fendermarshallvox classics? Hm, well...

Laney has made some great amps. The AOR series rule. Not too familiar with that head but the GH series of that era (I believe) get respect.

I hear a lot of good things about Laneys.
Perhaps it's just more a case of people seeking out lower wattage amps these days?

I love my Cub12. Best bedroom amp ever.
