I used to own a gibson melody maker three from 1968, and it had really bright pickups. I could only get them to calm down and sound better when I played through a solid state Fender bass amp. sounded awesome with the right fuzz pedal.

I played my guitar through a 1x15 with a Peavey t-max head for years and years. The clean tones were unbeatable. It worked for everything from metal to semi-ambient to straight up rock. People were always super confused at the idea, but I love(d) the sound of it.

I have a Fender Sidekick 35 solid state bass amp that I play guitar through sometimes. It sounds fantastic with a Big Muff or Dist+.

My "big" amp is a silverface Bassman 100. That sounds good no matter what.

One of my favorite amps for late 60's style blues is my Marshall JMP 2099 100 watt Bass Head couple with a Marshall VS 412 Cab - Pure MAGIC.

I play bass through Guitar amps. I'm in a punk band playing my modified Bass VI into a 50W Garnet "The Deputy" 1x12 guitar and played a small club show with it on like 3.

hey all. i recently started playing with a very loud drummer, and my eighty five can no longer keep up. i've been splitting my signal through my eighty five and a big bass amp that he has lying around (both maxed out) and i'm really digging the low end, especially when i have my rat and obd3 on. i haven't read much about other guitar players who use bass amps other than the old sunns, which would be a dream but are way too expensive for me.

my question is this: if you're using a bass amp with a guitar, what are you using and what's your set up look like? i'm very interested to see what other people are doing, and tell me what kinda stuff you play while you're at it!
I use a Strat into a Mesa 400+. The only pedal I added to my chain was a Red Witch Fuzz God. I jam with a lot of Stoner Rock and Doom metal bands who chucked at a Start in the genres...until the Tone shut them the hell up!
I have always used Bass amps for Guitar, mostly because of Kyuss and when I started out playing, its what they used.

My main amp is a Peavey Delta Blues 115. It's not a bad amp but the 15" speaker gives a really nice bass response and sounds fantastic. I've been tempted to switch out the speaker for a bass frequency rated speaker for some time, so I could at least plug in my bass to try, but haven't yet.
