This thread got me thinking;

Has anyone ever used the extension cab for their twin?
I have the opportunity to buy a bandmaster reverb 212 cab for the low

My only 412 cab at the moment is a ampeg V4 cab and matching head

Any pictures of a twin with a 212 extension cab?
Can't find anything on the internet
A while back I had my silver face twin with an empty twin cab with the speakers in it upside down ontop of my twin
pushed some SERIOUS air dude, i'll try to get a photo tomorow

so, i love the fender twin reverb. ever since i seen steve jones from the sex pistols playing one. but i will fully admit last gig i borrowed my friends one for, the amp was barely running and i was being told to point it away from the crowd because there was so much bleed in the mic's. the weird thing is the weight was an issue when i borrowed my friends but it had a flight case on wheels so it wasnt as bad.

i'm going to echo the sentiments above. before you try one, look very hard at a princeton or a deluxe.

Alex Edkins from Metz runs a Twin Reverb with an extension cab.

Anyone who can run a Twin with an extension cab is privileged to be in a situation where they can play just about as loud as an electric guitar is physically capable of. That would be right up there with the refrigerator-cab 8x10 SVT rigs in terms of disc-herniators!

I wonder if anyone has ever assembled four 1x12 cabs into a makeshift 4x12? If they have recessed handles it could work...i'd much rather make two trips to the van with a 1x12" in each hand than a single trip with a 4x12!

While it’s the best sounding amp ever made, a Twin is everything all the others have said about it: too heavy, too loud, not suitable for small clubs and of no use at all at home.

If you are into Twins, check out the Red Knob „The Twin“. These have an enormous range between total crap and really great, so you might want to try out more than one. And they have a 25W option. Plus they are really cheap.

And yes, I am aware of the fact that Red Knob Twins are not the „real thing“ 😉

Even the head looks heavy...

^ They are, but still much more manageable without the bulk and awkwardness of a loaded 2x12 (or 6x10 in the case of the even more obscene Super Six Reverb) attached...

My bandmate had a Super Twin for a while. It was probably 35% heavier than a Twin(!), and it honestly was alone as loud as our other guitarist’s 100w JCM800 + 4x12 cab. It didn’t sound very good, but... I guess it had everything the Nuge needed...

I had a twin for a minute, because it lacked in practicality, it had to go. What a pig that thing was.

I was thinking more of twin 212 combo ontop of 2x12 fender cab

I'll get a pic of it on Saturday when the fantasy comes true

In my opinion if there's room and you don't need the money why sell a good amp

If you can have more than one why not?

Some for the studio, some for at home, and some for gigs, and some to carry around to jam at someones house

one for the bathroom one for the kitchen one for the dog..... you know?

If I have something worth money that sits around unused, I walk past it and imagine it was money or something that i'd rather have...
